Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 228Jan 16, 2015 7:25 pm Hi clubbi4 Thanks for sharing, fantastic finished product and great to see it all the way through. Hopefully we are starting a build with MainVue in June, land should title in May. Building the Amalfi 428, I might even do a thread about it. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I can't tell from the photos, did you raise the height of your aluminium stackers to match the rest of the house? We are also swapping the timber out for aluminium and are getting $800 back which I thought was pretty good! Haven't decided if we want to raise them. Also, did I read correctly that you installed your own hot water service? We don't want the solar hot water because the reservoir takes up too much space down the side of the house. We are considering asking if they will exclude it and we will install a Rinnai 26 or something similar after handover. Is this something like what you did? Thanks, all the best. Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 229Jan 16, 2015 7:38 pm Hi Joshd, we didn't ask for raised stackers so I assume they are standard height even though our ceiling is slightly higher. We didn't install our own hot water service, it was the standard one that came with it which I wouldn't recommend. The solar hot water service makes a terrible hammering sound when you turn on the hot water for the first time after getting home from work on a hot day. We did call chromogen back in to check it out but of course it didn't happen when they came out to see what the problem is so we are stuck with the awful hammering in our roof. I don't think they will let you install your own after handover as you need hot water for the occupancy certificate before handover. Hope this helps, cheers Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 230Jan 16, 2015 8:35 pm Thanks! Good to know. Might add it to the upgrade list then! We have our color session coming up soon. Looking forward to it. Did you find you needed to upgrade much for quality? We haven't really seen many of their standard inclusions.. carpet, tiles etc. Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 231Jan 16, 2015 8:39 pm Could I please grab the details of who did your robe fitout? It looks fantastic. We are doing the same! Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 232Jan 16, 2015 9:26 pm joshd Thanks! I wish it had come up a little better.... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76589 My nightmare build photos> http://s1301.photobucket.com/user/HENLEY-MV/library/ Re: Mainvue Amalfi 530 237Jul 10, 2015 11:55 pm Hi there, I know you finished building a while ago but I would like your opinion on the solar gas hot water if you had the standard one installed. I've read a few bad reports about it being very noisy, especially for anyone in bedroom 2 and that it takes a long time to get hot in the kitchen. How have you found it, now that you have been living there a while? We are just starting the process with Mainvue and I want yo get it right! Thanks in advance for your opinion. |
