My initial thought was: If it looks like a door and a balconey, why not make it a door and a balconey ? Couple of little pot plants and the effect might be quite nice. ( Although now that I read it's a WIR, maybe this is not so practical though ?)
Or even extend the balcony all the way over and include a little feature window of some sort ? Underneath the feature window in the little "alcove" is an ideal spot for a few nice potplants.
This design would also give a bit of scope to make more of a "landing" area at the front door.

Also it's really just a steel roof with a brick parapet, my drawing is sooo *******.
