Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 28, 2012 3:39 pm just wondering if anyone can clarify this. on our plans for bed 2 3 4, where the robes are with the sliding doors, it says soffit over. robes are 2400h x 1200w. am i correct in thinking that the robes are not floor to ceiling which i was under the impression that they were supposed to be? ceilings are 28c. how much of a gap are we talking here if that is correct. Re: Soffit over robes 2Mar 28, 2012 5:09 pm Are the robes in a step out in the slab, meaning is the outside wall of the robes in line with the facsia ? If this is the case the ceiling height in your robes will be soffit height not internal ceiling height. Other thing may be because of the high ceilings they may drop the robe ceiling height down for convienience, makes it easier to sheet, cornice and paint. Cheers Re: Soffit over robes 3Mar 28, 2012 6:03 pm thanks mgilla. if i could upload plan it would be easier [cant seem to get imageshack to upload] sorry if i sound dumb, but not sure what the fascia is. the outside wall of the robes are actually part of the internal brickwork on a cavity wall [if you know what i mean] could that be the reason? Re: Soffit over robes 4Mar 29, 2012 9:07 am I know in our build the robe's suppled had an opening 2100 x 1200 with a ceiling height of 2600 I have had my builder provide a Nib wall for one end with an alcove and I'll get someone in after the build to fitout the robes at a much cheaper price than the builder wanted to charge me to do 'custom' floor to ceiling sliders Hi everyone, Looking for some advise.
