Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 22, 2012 5:14 pm Hi Everyone, I am new to all of this and was wondering if there is anyone out there who could provide some advice with regards to building on a sloping block. We have bought land on the Sunshine Coast and am finding it difficult to find a builder who will build on a sloping block and be within our budget range. All advice and suggestions are welcome. Cheers Jen Re: Sloping Block 4Mar 23, 2012 4:01 am There are a lot of slope builders in your area. I have been doing some research on slope builders. It all comes back to budget when building on slope block. What's your budget and size of house you have in mind? Re: Sloping Block 5Mar 23, 2012 8:32 am Speak to Ezy Homes. Their H/O is in Brisbane. They specialise in steep, sloping blocks & can build on sites most other builders will not take on (the frame is steel - BHP guaranteed). We were going to use them when we thought we were building our house (ended up buying an existing one instead - not Ezy, unfortunately). Last I heard, they do not have display homes as such but they are happy to give you the addresses of any builds they have done in your area. We had a look at a view (a few from the outside, one inside & out, & was very impressed with their work). With them, you can either be O/B to save $$, or they will fully build it for you - we were looking at the 3 B/R Outlook - $58,300 Frame Kit only, $101,400 Full Materials Kit, or built by them to lock up $218,700. These quotes are not current (a couple of years old now) but it should give you an idea. They also provide O/B courses for those that want to build their own. You can find them on http://www.ezyhomes.com.au/ "Whoever says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain!" Re: Sloping Block 7Mar 23, 2012 10:10 am I think the quote for $218,700 was for standard fitout. If you want the upgrades (eg. caesarstone, or fancy handles & tapware), then add accordingly. But you can always source them yourself if you think you can get it cheaper. Ezy has a number of different designs, both bigger & smaller - Outlook was simply the one we were looking at & therefore, had the quote on. Re: Sloping Block 8Mar 23, 2012 10:13 am Check out this builder, they are specialists with sloping blocks http://www.pjburns.com/ They have a very good reputation on Product review and are at the Sunshine coast. Re: Sloping Block 9May 14, 2013 8:26 am JenBake I would be keen to hear how you went. I noticed this was from March last year and wondered if you had built yet or decided who to go with. I am currently looking at land in the Sunshine Coast too and currently going through the process of realising that flat blocks are very hard to come by within our budget and that we may have to look to another builder. Cost is another factor for us also. I have read the other answers and looking into some of those options. Re: Sloping Block 10May 14, 2013 2:07 pm Lou7000, we decided on using a private builder "Dall Designer Homes". Very happy with the house however we were over budget with what we had intended on spending. This mainly came down to extra excavation due to a large unknown rock right near our front door and of course the internal extras (fixtures/fittings). Overall very happy with end result and with the estate we have chosen to live in. Happy to provide other information if required. Good luck. Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with. His number is 0425 285 622 All the best Simeon 3 12288 i did click it, still couldnt make it out rofl. in any case, doesnt look like too extreme a slope, you may be in luck. Just shoot out some emails to volume builders in… 3 18511 Howdy all. I am looking for feedback on what people would do to maximise and make an area as flat as possible. First, out the front of the house is a sloping hill, pretty… 0 20052 |
