Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Queenslanders building our first house!!!! 601Apr 24, 2012 9:48 am WAHHOOO!!!! Look at me falling asleep and missing all the action!!!! First of all..... the Samsung was seriously the first one I clicked on!!! I haven't investigated fridges at all yet!!!! You guys all rock - you are all a wealth of information and seriously funny - WASHING THEIR HANDS NAKED!!!! pppfffftttttttt I lose stuff in the back of my fridge already..... imagine having a metre to deal with!!!! oh dear. I will look at a few more fridges keeping the ice/water dispenser and chunky handle philosophies in mind............. And I really just need to say........ do I honestly need SIX basins...... not including the laundry tub or the kitchen sink......?????????? But otherwise this is a fabulous plan and oops sorry I've already fallen seriously in love with it!!!! ~ okjorg viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55196&p=844089#p844089 Settlement date - 13 Jan Final plans - 24 Sept Council approval - 21 Oct First peg in the ground - 7 Nov Re: Queenslanders building our first house!!!! 602Apr 24, 2012 10:33 am maybe dont do double in the main bathroom? but in my mind if you have a sep loo...it needs to come with a basin if you dont want a loo basin, then have the loo in the bathroom. I dont have a double basin in the ensuite...maybe one morning a week I wish we had, but I dont work..so usually he is alone in there (doing who knows what) so for me 2 sinks to clean in an ensuite..wasnt worth it. the other 2 shower rooms have single sinks but with a bit of bench space for hair dryers, makeup as my girls and boys get older (drawers for 'product' the boys use..WHAT THE?) so, no you dont need six, if you dont want them..but if you do..cos you have a zillion kids, go for it. but if you are a family of 4, probably over kill Re: Queenslanders building our first house!!!! 604Apr 24, 2012 4:02 pm dont get me started with poo on the door handle.... But then I am someone who is fine with toilets in the bathroom (in fact, we have our laundry in the bathroom too). Re: Queenslanders building our first house!!!! 609Apr 24, 2012 5:46 pm I get it - I GET IT!!!!! We need the basin very close to the toilet!!! I get it!!!!!! Perhaps the toilet in the main bathroom is the answer??? I think the guest toilet definitely needs the basin.... and for now I'd like to keep the two double vanities...... just to see what it looks like ~ okjorg viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55196&p=844089#p844089 Settlement date - 13 Jan Final plans - 24 Sept Council approval - 21 Oct First peg in the ground - 7 Nov Re: Queenslanders building our first house!!!! 610Apr 24, 2012 6:29 pm okjorg Perhaps the toilet in the main bathroom is the answer??? yeah, you already have a stand alone powder toilet not far away and your place is single storey not double (so it's not far to go for a toilet). Less basins, less walls etc. all mean a little more off your costs too...
