Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 20, 2012 5:19 pm We are building in Kellyville Ridge. Our plans have been approved by the Ponds Design Review Panel and are currently in with Blacktown Council. We received a call from our builder today to say that Blacktown Council require our piering to be double strength (40MPa) if the piers exceed 1 metre in depth. This could potentially add a lot more money to our piering costs. Has anyone else experienced this?? Re: Concrete Piering 2Mar 20, 2012 5:42 pm If its just increasing the concrete strength it shouldn't be much more. A lot of the cost of piering is related to excavation of the piers and placing the concrete. Basically its a couple of kg of cement per pier in the mix to get a stronger concrete. Re: Concrete Piering 3Mar 20, 2012 5:52 pm Mine was also must be 32Mpa by council request, so I have to fork out $2450 extra...not happy.... To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9862 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10940 |
