Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 19, 2012 7:58 pm Hi, we are building a new house and I would like to knock out as much noise between the floors and between certain rooms, e.g. laundry, home theatre, kids games room. I am confused between the benefits of: Rockwool SoundScreen Plus R3.0 SoundChek 10mm SoundChek 13mm I am already doing: double galzed windows throughout (for insulation and noise properties) R3.5 for cilings R2.5 for external walls Carpet upstairs with acoustic underlay. From the quote thus far from the builder the Rockwool Soundscreen is quite cheap for between the floors and in the walls. The SoundChek 1mm is about $12K to do this between the 2 floors and around 3 rooms which seems really expensive. What benefit will the SoundChek give over and above the Rockwool? Thanks Hi We have a road close to our place and only an old flimsy wooden fence between us and the Neighbour closest to the road. Any ideas on a sound proof modular fence.
