I love all your internal colour choices!! Some are similar to mine, but in different areas of the house. If I hadn't decided on the white essa stone for my kitchen/bathrooms, I would've had black essa stone in the kitchen and light colored Formica/Laminex in the bathrooms.... Apparently my builder won't do things half/half. We received our plans from drafting department on the 30/01/2012. We did our initial meeting with the sales rep at the redink office in begining of nov then everything else was over the email and phone as we are residing in Kalgoorlie at the moment. Hi Cazz, Im sorry for that muddle up.... but its 06/03/2012 I love these colours soo much also Its funny you say that about the colours in your kitchen cause i was originally going to go white essa stone and black gloss cabinetry until a carpenter informed me not to as i will never get it looking clean especially with kiddies and its easy to scratch (thats the black gloss) so i thought i would flip it that way i still get black in there... How far along with your build are you cazz:) anything i should be worried about..... Building a house is hard work but worth i hope in the end... Redink Homes Lifestyle Build - Munster SOR 9Mar 20, 2012 12:50 am Hi Mary, I'm up to the waiting stage!!! So much waiting.... I have a tap at my block and I'm waiting for earthworks to get started! Hopefully I'll see a slab on my block sometime over the next 3-4 weeks.... Then I believe there's more waiting to be done! Argh! I did things in a slightly different order to you. I put an offer on my land on Sunday the 13th of November, it was accepted on the 14th. I signed my pre-contractuals on the 27th of November with my builder. I got finance approval for my land on the 3rd of January, 24th Jan was pre-start, 31st Jan settlement on my land, formal finance approval for my construction loan around the end of Feb (don't EVER work for a bank, if you think it will get you a better deal/faster approval, it won't!). My builder sent off for scheduling the same day I received formal finance approval from my bank. I would say that the stage between pre-start and slab-pour would be the most frustrating.... But maybe that's just 'cause that's where I'm at!!! I'm not looking forward to lock-up, that's for sure! I like having access Re: Redink Homes Lifestyle Build - Munster SOR 10Mar 20, 2012 8:54 am caz_770 Hi Mary, I'm up to the waiting stage!!! So much waiting.... I like having access We have not signed our prestart costings yet, we have had them for 2 weeks going back and forth with changes and hopefully today we are happy and will be signing off on them ... so im hoping after today its just waiting for our slab and that wont take too long but then again i am not sure whats going on with the council side of things as i havent heard anything ..... we are not in any rush but i hope it doesnt drag on either as after handover we have to install wooden flooring that supposably takes 3-4 weeks which means other then the outside we cant do anything inside so thats another month of waiting..... Re: Redink Homes Lifestyle Build - Munster SOR 11Mar 23, 2012 2:35 pm i am starting to get a bit frustrated now as our prestart was on the 6th March and we still have not received our completed costings to sign off on. (To be honest we have added extra things to the list since 6th march) Our prestart girl which is fantastic has been on sick leave this whole week and a day last week As much as we are not in a rush we are thinking this is getting a bit ridiculous as our broker is waiting on costings and our signed contract from 6th march to get finance for it all... I have to admit the one thing i am not impressed with is how long it takes the estimators to come back with costs.... I remember reading on this forum how people have had all estimations given to them while they were in prestart...Well not us..... it took over a week to get an estimation for a kitchen sink???? So frustrating Re: Redink Homes Lifestyle Build - Munster SOR- frustrated 12Mar 23, 2012 3:16 pm hi mary, so hard to be patient isnt it.....im so not good at that. - DH holds me back a bit from charging off half cocked - unfortunately i have to admit he is the sensible one in that regard did you upgrade much at prestart? would you mind sending the costs to me when you have them if you did, so i can get an idea of what we are up for when we go. [as private msg is fine]. hope you get them soon. im sure next week will be your week. Re: Redink Homes Lifestyle Build - Munster SOR- frustrated 13Mar 23, 2012 4:35 pm What is the average wait for prestart costings or how long did it take from the time you were at prestart to the final signing of prestart costings??? Thanks Re: Redink Build - Munster SOR- frustrated prestart costings 14Mar 26, 2012 12:09 pm Hi All, Our prestart consultant is back from being away sick for over a week... yay She emailed this morning stating we can have everything by this afternoon, so that being said we are hoping we can see progress from here on out... fingers & toes crossed..... Re: Redink Build - Munster - Average Council wait??? 18Mar 26, 2012 7:15 pm Hi All, Builder sent through plans on 22nd April to the council for approval and have not heard anything back.... Just wondering before i start getting impatient if this is the standard wait time for council approval..////?????????????? Re: Redink Build - Munster - Average Council wait??? 19Mar 26, 2012 7:35 pm i think it is mary......i know they do vary tho. there is one council over here, that was taking about 8 weeks. [not ours thank goodness. i think after having to wait so long just to get our plans it would drive me insane] but i think 4-6 is the average atm. it sux having to wait....im so with you there Re: Redink Build - Munster - Average Council wait??? 20Mar 26, 2012 7:42 pm GardenofNeedn-58 i think it is mary......i know they do vary tho. there is one council over here, that was taking about 8 weeks.
