They never mentioned upgrading the controller and we weren't aware that we would be getting the standard nav ease controller. Would make sense to have the zone controller but apparently it's not standard. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4663Jun 18, 2014 9:27 am Hi All, My believe that whilst Rawson include the Built in Wardrobes, they don't provide the wardrobe fitout as standard (just a rod). We were originally planning on doing the fitout after handover, but now wondering whether it would be cheaper to have the entire wardrobes incl fitout done after handover. What has everyone else done? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4664Jun 18, 2014 10:09 am I got them all taken out and we are getting them fitted ourselves after handover. If I remember correctly, it's a credit of $120 or $150 per robe. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4667Jun 19, 2014 10:45 am Akadeft Thanks Ongie. I was going to do the fitout out post handover, but then thought what about do the entire wardrobe post handover and get a credit back from Rawson I recommend 100% do not add it if you're planning to change it after handover. We left the standard WIR wardrobe in and the installer of the new WIR came to remove the Rawson one they found that it had been glued and nailed the wall - not screwed in. The means the glue ripped off a lot gyp-rock and meant we had to patch it after. Very cheap and nasty install. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4668Jun 19, 2014 10:59 am ^^ That's pretty standard install of the rails and shelf for all built ins these days. we kept ours in the main bedrooms, but had it deleted from our WIR... didn't get much back for it. Can't wait to find some $$ to get the proper shelving put in... oh well.. our basics will have to do for now! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4669Jun 19, 2014 3:01 pm Also found out about the glue when I had to remove the shelves from the linen cupboard. I requested the shelves to be removed but the variation only listed bedrooms so SS would not listen when I remind him beforehand to leave them empty. A lot of work to patch up four shelves of damage. Might of been better to replace the whole wall. Anyway, checkout Ximula wardrobe/shelving system. Very flexible if you don't mind the sleek style. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4670Jun 22, 2014 9:06 am We were going to delete the shelving in our WIR but the credit back was about 100 bucks so we figured we might as well leave them in for convenience for now.. once we are settled in we will look at fitting it out...It's good to know about the glue/nails.. i'll be sure to keep that in mind when we eventually pull them out.. I wonder if the site supervisor can arrange to have them screwed in if we request it... Yep.. we chose during internals too but turns out i forgot all about it!! Too much other stuff going through my head! our selection guide is revision E but it's still the same page.. thanks Pongie, you mentioned the Nav Ease controller.. We only have two zones (upstairs+Downstairs), will the nav ease still allow us to select between these zones, do you know? Our Benham 33 journey 4672Jun 22, 2014 10:36 am Nav ease controller cannot control the zones, what Rawson end up doing was putting a gang plate with switches for each zone under the controller. Quite ugly and we wish we knew before hand. I got one quote to upgrade it to the zone controller after handover and it's $700 plus patch work to cover the hole. I'm looking into the wireless controller now (skifi) that can be accessed from your mobile/tablets. Pongie, do you have any ideas of pricing structures for the Ximula? I think I am liking them. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4674Jun 23, 2014 12:58 pm The vertical walls are about $100 each and the hanging rods are $20-30 each depending on length. The shelves range from $60-$150,again depending length. What cost the most are drawers and cupboards, I sample 4 drawers unit is like $600. Good thing is, everything is connected to the vertical wall post. So only these are installed on the wall/ceiling. You can rearrange everything else and best of all, if you ever decides to move, it's easy to remove and take with you. I might ask for a price on the zone controller. Since I only have 2 zones I don't think the switches will matter as much. The nav ease controller looks nice enough to me. I googled the zone controller and it looks quite big.. The wifi one would definitely be the best way to go in my opinion! Our Benham 33 journey 4677Jun 23, 2014 9:56 pm The air con consultant also advised against the zone controller, something about it sticking out further from the wall. I'm just concerned how the zones would operate electronically in tandem with the zone switches. Since the nav ease controller knows nothing about zones, the position of the switches is the only indication. If it's been controlled via skifi, then the position could be confusing. Hence why I'm considering changing it to the zone controller. Not looking forward to the price and patch work I'll have to do. Edit: done a bit more research, and the skifi controller will only let you control zones when paired with the zone controller. When paired with the nav ease controller, then the zone switches are the only way to control the zones. 2nd edit: quote for upgrading the navease controller to the zone controller is $350 and installing the skifi controller is $750. So another $1100 all up. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4679Jul 04, 2014 10:36 am The zone controller is just a nicer looking replacement to the gang plate switches. The skifi is useful since it can be controlled wherever you have access to wifi (or internet). Moving the switches depends on where the new location is. For a double storey home, the ground floor is pretty much off limit without doing extensive work. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 4680Jul 14, 2014 5:39 pm What are people's experience with brick mortar choices? We had chosen flush mortar but at our internal selections our colour consultant basically told us we couldn't have flush as it is too hard for them to guarantee a good job and they would not take any responsibility if it came out messy, et.
