We stopped past last night to check them out and I ended up chatting with the neighbours for half an hour! They are absolutely lovely and very happy and excited for us. They have also very kindly solved our problem of water by allowing us to use theirs for getting our retaining walls done! Woohoo!!! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3742Aug 14, 2013 10:02 am Congrats on your pegs JTM. It took us a while to get those pegs. Thankfully now when your file goes to the SS he can book the site cut straight away Also great news on your water. Jen look forward to your pictures.. Bailey.. it looks like u will have ur house for Christmas. An update on ours -- Our stacker doors are installed and it looks really good.. 6 stackers opening to alfresco.. It looks like the first storey bricking is close to completion. Will need to call SS tomorrow asking for an update. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3746Aug 15, 2013 8:44 am Still no bricks.. House has been sitting untouched now for 2.5 weeks. Pretty annoying since we've had awesome weather during that time. Let's just say that our chances of being into our home in December are slim to none so we probably won't be in til February now. Love paying rent + mortgage for an extra two months... Brickies are meant to be there tomorrow. They'd better be. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3747Aug 15, 2013 5:12 pm We signed off on internal selections 2 weeks ago - just wondering how long it takes to receive the contract and colour plans (is it the usual 3 week wait for plans)? We received council approval in June so im anxious to start building... Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3748Aug 15, 2013 6:08 pm News! Handover may be Thursday next week. There's only a few minor things to be corrected over the next week, so hopefully the appropriate trades can be lined up. Painting: Many, many, many little painting things all over the place. Tiling/Grouting: Cleaning up of sloppy grouting in a few places throughout. Plumbing: Leaky P traps in basically all the sinks, need to install one showerhead still, and the showerhead that was installed, had a bracket installed upside down! Bricking: Fix 2 misaligned bricks of a bit they just filled in on the alfresco. Air-Con: Unit seems damaged with some sort of paint scratching/clamping on the outside - bright yellow too. Misc: Fix up the alignment of some exhaust vents which are square and look a bit wonky when not parallel to the wall line. Here's the doors we waited on so long finally installed: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the view from the front door now looking down the house, showing both feature walls: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the 'TV surround' feature wall closer up: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All systems go! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3751Aug 15, 2013 6:40 pm We are at day 122 since we signed our Tender. Still no sign of our contract. File still has not gone to certifier for CDC. Apparently the Rawson head office is relocating today and tomorrow so I'm not counting on getting our contract 'til sometime next week. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3752Aug 15, 2013 6:48 pm Koroboo - the doors are I know they took a long time to come, but they are worth it. Really lovely. Thankfully there is not much to fix up.
