The guy said that it wouldn't be worth bothering with slurry bricks as many of them will arrive at your job already chipped and broken (as what happened with The Rise). I'm thinking that if it's only going to cost us $4k-5k to bag the house and paint it in a similar colour to the brick that we wanted (which was a $4k upgrade anyway) we may as well just do that. It'll give a cleaner look as well and you always have the option to re-paint in 10 years when the "popular" colour palates change. Just a thought anyway Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1323Nov 08, 2012 10:25 am We have pegs!!!! Yay that's great news. Munchi- your colour scheme sounds really nice. I think you've made a good decision with the rendering. Less to worry about and the added flexibility of being able to change the colour later on. I haven't started thinking about internal colours yet, too busy sorting out externals hehe. Should have them all ready to send off by tomorrow so that will be one less thing to worry about. Tarsha- good luck with your appoint, fingers crossed its all good! Smorgzzz- congrats on the door!! I got an email from our CSO Christine yesterday to say that " due to office restructuring my file has been passed into another CSO, Jessica". Can I just say I've only had her since yesterday and she is fantastic!! I can reach her when I call her, if not she returns my calls and wait for it... She actually does what says she is going to do in the actual timeframe!! Very very happy Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1328Nov 08, 2012 5:37 pm We're having panel glides installed on our corner stacker doors and on the straight stacker. It was the only thing I could find that would open the same way as the doors at the time (although I am sure I will see plenty of options now that we've ordered them). They haven't been installed yet but should be withing the next few weeks so I can update you on how effective they are then. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1329Nov 08, 2012 8:42 pm Hi guys We are looking at doing rollers on the stacker doors.. Probably two for each side The sun will be from that direction in the afternoon so i am keen to keep the heat out although the alfresco should shelter the majority of it Shoulder update - It hasn't healed properly and never will without an operation but the specialist is happy for me to go back to pole dancing provided it doesnt hurt to do. Apparently instead of calcium fusing the bones it is some other form of "Fibrous material" But anyway first stop on the way back from Sydney was the Dance studio to see what I can do and I can still Invert!!! That was the high point of the day.. Low point - going to my block and there was no one there.. Material for the EAves and cladding have been on the ground since tuesday and now its raining so there goes the plan of having that done. Rang SS and he sounded as cranky as me.. On another note.. I have roughly measured the fridge gap and found it is about 980mm instead of the 1000mm we wanted and this is without Gyprock.. Will be taking the tape measure with me next time to be sure... I'll also be following that up with the SS because that's not going to leave enough room for our fridge doors to open! Hmm Also still no word from Tile direct. I rang and she confirmed my email and said she'd sent it but it hasnt arrived.. She will try again in the morning.. I'm now thinking of changing to the tile drains anyways.. thats what happens when these things take to long lol Jen - YAY!!! Smorgzz- Does that mean they can finally lock the house up!! Nest - thats always the way, you order something that you thought was hard to find and all of a sudden its everywhere!!! My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1330Nov 08, 2012 10:44 pm Glad to hear about the PEGS Jen and the DOOR Smorgzz - good news all round..... Thanks everyone for your updates on the blinds, I have been trying to sought these out and can;t decide... Only looking at them now as my street was a dust pit with all the construction and don't want to get the new coverings dusty . But since the R home next door is bricked and accross from me is slabbed the dust is finally settling down. Have deffinately decided on Shutters for the front , as we have the big glass corner window they should look . Am doing rollers in the kids bedrooms in a blockout but with a texture. And in the bathrooms and living rooms doing a translucent in white with a texture (similar to one of the 2 storys at HOMEWORLD Kellyville but my stackers have me stumped. DH has always wanted the Pelmets over these doors but the stackers arn't corner stackers they have about 40cm gyprock on each side between them so not sure wheather to run one pelmet over the stackers and around the corner over the gyprock as well or if I would need 2 pelmets. 1 would give the illusion of it all as one.. SORRY GUYS JUST READ THAT BACK AND THAT DID NOT MAKE SENSE AT ALL... HOPEFULLY YOU GET THE IDEA.. We don't have a privacy issue on thes door and at least I can see the pool uninterupted... As we have no Telstra lines in our street as yet have just relised R had forgotten to attach the little Telstra box on the outside of the garage and take the lead through to the pit on the street. I thought it was Telstra so after having another go at them today I got out the tender and relised it was R. Should be an easy fix though.. Tarsha.. thats great you can still INVERT ! Not sure what it is but sounds important to pole dancing If you can't fit your new beautiful fridge I'ii look after it for you... Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1331Nov 08, 2012 10:47 pm And Tarsha.. those tiles in our kitchen are beautiful and YES so easy to clean. They catch the light in different times of the day and glisten especially late afternoon the just shine and looks stunning. I wil try and get a pic of the late afternoon effects I get on them, no sure if the darker colours in that tile do the same thing.. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1332Nov 09, 2012 5:37 am TheRise - I love your white shiny tiles on the splashback. i think we are going to have to go for those around the mirror in the 5th bedroom ensuite and the powder room. A bit of subtle bling. I would probably go for two separate pelmets on your corner stacker. I think if you had curtains there it would give the illusion of a single stacker, but not sure if it would with just the pelmet. Tarsha - so I gather that you are not going to have an operation. That is great news that you can invert - I doubt that I could ever do that with two collarbones. Just bring up the issues with the SS. I am sure that they will fix the fridge space. Mine is 1000mm wide as well, so I need to make sure that mine measures this wide or we will not get our new fridge (if we can ever afford to buy it) in Landlord coming back tomorrow to repair the sliding door. What annoys me is we have never complained about the door even though the rollers are broken and you have to lift the door to close it. He knew about it and suddenly after 7 months of being in the house it has to be fixed so it does not damage the door frame. THe house was vacant for weeks before we moved in, surely if it was that important you would have done it then, rather than waiting 7 months and now jumping up and down that it is an urgent repair. I can't wait to move out of this rental Smorgzzz - how did you go with your rental inspection? Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1333Nov 09, 2012 6:47 am Jen - Rental inspection went well, I went for a drive with the "illegal" and left my hobbling husband to deal with the agent. He worked his charm. No letter from the agent yet to tell us we didn't clean the bathroom fan or something like that, but I'm sure there is one coming... they're a bit fussy like that. No mention of our lease expiring (it expired yesterday) Tarsha - Good news that you can go back to pole dancing! So are you getting a pole put into your new house? To be honest, I can't recall measuring our fridge space, and now we're locked out.... I think we'll go 2 seperate pelmets, there is too much space between the two doors for it to work. I received my delivery of cushions yesterday, I hope they work with my lounges! Now to wait for the lounges... they were meant to be delivered in December. I am starting to think they'll be coming to live at the rental. I had a wander around Myer yesterday and trying to workout colours for hand towels and tea towels (SO important) I really like the tangerine colour and also red. My main towels are charcoal grey, so want a contrast. Do they know you have any pets. They know we have the two dogs, but we never said anything about the chickens. They know they are here, but have never said anything about them. I love blue and yellow with grey. We are going grey as well, but not sure what other colours we will have Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1335Nov 09, 2012 7:30 am They know about the dog, but not the smaller feline dog we have, we had enough trouble getting a rental with the dog. If I can find a nice royal blue hand towel I'd probably consider that too. Building Stroud 30 in Lake Macquarie Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1337Nov 09, 2012 9:21 am The rise inverting means going upside down lol I better be able to fit the fridge lol I think just do the pelmets on the individual stackers I think I'm considering a white splashback maybe? Just not sure if the cupboards would be too light (they are the same as the top ones in your kitchen) Smorgzz - I have a pole in my loungeroom currently but in the new house I'll have a whole room just for pole stuff! (the 4th bedroom haha) Towel Colours are important Its one of the things I have actually figured out Glad your inspection went well My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1338Nov 09, 2012 12:36 pm Smorgzzz - did you get any comments for having the tile drains on the second floor? the lady told me that they are harder to do? My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1339Nov 09, 2012 1:00 pm Tarsha - nope no mention of that at all. So tell me about your pole room. She made a big deal over it... Well the studio I dance at has pink everything so I found a really nice pink wall paper at masters and I've been hunting down some big mirrors as well..
