Has anyone asked for ethernet internet spots around the house to connect computers if one didn't want to go wireless?
Has anyone asked for a camera intercom for the front door?
Has anyone asked for outside facade lights next to the garage doors?
Or an extra power point in the kitchen island bench?
PM me if you have any price/logistics details on any of the above, please, want to be well prepared.
Thanks
Hi duesseldorf,
We had our appointment with Megan on Monday morning! Be prepared, it can be quite a bit more than you would expect. My father in-law is an electrician and went through our markup with us just be sure. For what it is worth, if your budget allows for, pre-wire wherever you think you may need lights in the future. It is slightly more expensive now, but it will save someone a lot of hassle (& you a mess) in the future.
The cat6 cabling was too expensive for me to sign off on so we will run our own cat5 before plastering. Hardwire is ALWAYS a better option than wireless if you have the opportunity.
We put in the Kocom colour intercom with an additional handset upstairs to make life easier! We also allowed for feature lighting on the three columns and down lights in the eaves above the garage, entry and front bedrooms. Make sure you allow for outside lights now (if you need them).
Our estate has fibre to the home and the home hub is an estate requirement. If this is needed for you, make sure you clarify what is included in your package. Our inclusion package was less than we thought.
Good luck!
