Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1220Nov 01, 2012 12:28 pm Mrs Bigted I think I'd be assuming that Rawson don't want your job. Project builders make their money out of reproducing the same design over & over. Anything ''different" costs them extra every step of the way. A fair assumption; except they keep saying they do want to do it. And it's not like the extra cost added to the original (and incorrect) tender weren't significant either; given our house is a 35-square mashup of the 27, 32, 37 & 42 square Chifleys with an embiggened garage, the price was 25% over what was printed on a flyer at the time for the cost of a Chifely 42 built at The Ponds or ... Kellyville Ridge, is tha that the Homeworld 5 estate? Anyhoo, we've been looking around, but we forgot how annoying it is starting to deal with salespeople again, and how they claim to know everything but don't (and won't let you even ask whether their private certifiers will allow something because "they know better" despite being wrong). It's been so long that we've realised over winter that the big gum tree across the road blocks sunlight to our downstairs living area, so in the process of looking around we've changed our desired design to have that living/lounge upstairs (where the winter sun currently falls on the roof of our one-storey house). Additional shed has also been added to our desirements, as that way we can unembiggen the garage a bit & it means we don't push the floorspace ratio as hard. These new desirements have opened-up quite a few designs from other builders; but Rawson hadn't actually redrawn our plans yet either, the work they've already done (parts pricing) was still applicable though so we've shot them through a modification to our previous request which shuffles rooms around as well. They tell us they'll get the tender with these changes to us next week; to be honest, with the additional shed out the back & the way the interior space works for us, it's still the best design for our needs that I've seen. If I had to justify an extra $150k over the next-best design it'd be a little hard to do ... still, we intend to live there past retirement, which is at least another 25 years, so the extra money could be worth it ... prolly not worth speculating yet, as we don't have those prices anyway. Jen1977 I am currently at the hospital. My son Harry who is 2.5 is having surgery. He fell out of the car (while it was stationery) and he has broken both bones in his wrist. The bones weren't in place, so they have had to give him a general to set it properly. Eeep! He's checked out now though, so I'm guessing he's probably OK? If it helps at all, one of my workmate's sons (who's about the same age) broke his leg (green-stick) about 4 weeks ago and X-ray said it'd completely healed before last week. Wow they heal quickly at that age! Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval. The kit home companys wont release plans without a deposit and… 0 7316 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23933 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 24054 |
