No handover date as yet. SS was in the office yesterday, hoping he managed to pick up our handover pack which they were trying to get reasy for him. Will probably know more today. Our list is powering through from our inspection last week. Inspection took just over 2 hours. * Gas meter - Installed yesterday * dent on colourbons - fixed yesterday * chipped tile in laundry - fixed yesterday * Scratches on h/theatre window - already been out to inspect, being soughted * Paint - internallly little blue stickys everywhere , with complete repainting of a couple of doors - painters have started - externally - decided to paint meter box in the rain - need to redo , not liking the streaking finish applied * garage door needing adjusting- scraping bottom bricks - hope bottom panel to be replaced * A big win is PGH have approved NAWKAW to be applied to the front and rear of the house to fix my bricks - THIS WAS MY MAIN WORRY * Kitchen - waiting on them to have a look. About 30cm scratch on my side panel and 2 chips elsewhere. That really is it... really hoping for early next week. Plan is to start tiler asap after handover and start moving Sunday/Monday week. Will carpets in for early that week. Kiddies can go and stay with my mum till carpets are down. We need to paint home theatre and other duaghters features wall before carpet so will probably stay at the house alone... Trying to dull down my excitment but so hard when we are so close ! Smorgzz - yay for roof , we love roofs. You have been blessed with great weather. Tarsha - you can order samples from Laminex in a A4 size. It makes it so much easier, they normally take about 3 days to arrive. NOt sure if you have the time. Koroboo - Hope your CSO gets back to you asap today. I have been told they have recently employed extra staff stated with more admin assistants. Fingers crossed for a date today !! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 713Aug 08, 2012 8:50 am TheRise - that is a great tip on ordering colour samples from laminex. i might get a couple of those. I want to be prepared for when we finally get to colours. Great news on the bricks. I read in another thread that someone had blowouts on their slurry faced bricks and PGH said that they were normal and would not do anything about it. Smorgzzz - I actually went back on the FB page yesterday and checked if I had had a response and i found my original comment and had an answer. I didnt realise it was there as I hadn't been tagged. Was given the website of where they came from, but I can't see them on there, so will send them an email today to see if they still stock them. Koroboo - who is your CSO? I find when i ring my CSO's direct number it goes into vmail, so I ring the main switch and asked to be put through. Sometimes I get an answer, sometimes it goes to vmail again. I keep sending emails and I am keeping a record of all emails sent and received. Cleaning day today. I swear this rental is so small compared to our last house and it always looks like a dump - everyone said it would be so easy to keep clean, give me a big house anyday. I asked Simone yesterday when I can send through our next payment. Thought if I offer to pay it might keep things moving a little. I am hoping I can get the plans tomorrow, if they are all good I will make a special trip into work on Friday to send them back. Drama after drama for us at the moment So we made the decision to stay with the cavia lini and go back to having draws.. We then went through the drama of choosing handles or no handles (our doors are no handles) and have elected to pay $250 per vanity to have the shadowline draws.. I get the phonecall today saying that when you have draws, you only get one set per vanity instead of the 3 sets of shelves on the ensuite and 2 sets of shelves on the main bathroom.. argh!! so now we have added extras each vanity (Only having two sets on the ensuite because draws are bigger then shelves?) This is the only thing that is stopping the plans getting to the SS - he would have got them today if someone had mentioned it yesterday and we made the decision then.. now he probably wont get them until next wednesday :( My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 715Aug 08, 2012 4:22 pm Tarsha - When our place started, the office told us the SS was picking the plans up from the office on the Tuesday, our land had already been cut and formed up by the Tuesday. So I'm sure they'll get them to him, or he'll be able to start. Another progress payment down, 61% paid for! Drove past and our roof tiles look awesome, I haven't taken a proper photo, only one right on dusk. I'm really pleased with the colour, we went for Barramundi. There must be a darker colour available through another supplier that looks almost black, because I keep seeing it and hoping that ours doesn't look that dark, and it doesn't! The colours are looking great, the other thing that had been bugging me was not upgrading the tiles to a flat profile, we have gone standard. I am so glad we didn't upgrade them, the way the roof pitch is, you can barely see the roof. The Rise - Did your SS get your pack yesterday? It's such good news about the nawkaw and everything falling into place. I forgot you had to still do your flooring after handover, will you move everything into your new place and get out of the rental ASAP, or hang onto it until after the floors are done? We are getting R to do all our flooring, we worked out it was easier for R to do it, we could stop paying rent and just move in.... did I mention, I can't wait to stop renting!! We were debating whether to go with it, but I think it is a bit too black. We also worried about the roof colour, but with the two storey house, and we have quite a few trees, you will hardly see it. We are going with Barramundi as well. We were told that caper is closer to woodland grey, but I think that is the roof that the people have had installed today, and it is a bit light for my liking. You will have to post some pics of your roof Tarsha - dont understand what you are meaning about the vanity - I am sure it will be explained to me when we get to colours. Do they give you brochures for these before you go to your colour appt. Time to sign forms and cough up the CDC submission payment... Here's to 6 weeks time having our house smashed down I'm looking forward to colours though my wife and I have a fairly standard idea on what we want and *hopefully* shouldn't take too long picking it all... That is soooo exciting. Yeah, we are waiting for our plan revisions so we are so far away from celebrating a roof, it's not funny. lol We picked Mocca Choc and Gravel Bricks, PGH have been really helpful with all the colour combination and my wife doesn't want a dark roof. We are upgrading to Traditional Profile, but it's free with supplier bonus, so might as well. I know what you mean, I'd rather move in too even if it's not 100% ready. Would love to see the photos of the roof etc. We're getting Rawson to do flooring also. Impressed by the quality finish in the showhomes and I'm sure we'll find some nice carpet in their range, maybe we'll just upgrade the underlay. I really wanna see something happen but its a trek for me to drive to find out nothings happened lol Jen its just different layout for draws or shelves with the cupboards on the vanity.. In our tender if we went with draws it is one set of draws(so three draws under each other) for each vanity where shelves look like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On the normal draws you would usually get the one down the middle on the ensuite and one on either the right or left for the main.. We've done one either side on both Most of the brochures that you would use for your colours would be in the big orange folder that they send out Koroboo we knew most of the things that we wanted and it only took 2 .5 hrs so that wasnt bad we powered through but there were a few things we didnt think of like timber stains etc. The girls are extremely helpful though My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 720Aug 09, 2012 7:21 am Tarsha - No, I was told he was picking up the file on the Tuesday, drove past on the Wednesday and it was all formed up etc Have you been notified who your SS is and has your site been pegged out etc?
