We still have a fair amount of maintenance My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3771Aug 19, 2013 10:24 pm Poor hubby is sick if sitting at home the whole week every time he is on R&R waiting for people that don't show My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3772Aug 20, 2013 7:44 am Also having problems with our push to close vanity doors. I found that if you push the sticky out bit in with your finger and then close the door it works better - not really good enough but it works. Still deciding whether to put in the maintenance list - which is growing every day! We've got a few small places in the kitchen with push to open with Blum Tip On (I think that's the name). Haven't had any issues when we've been there testing all the drawers/cupboards... Koroboo - I think yours might come from a different company as Elba did not do your kitchen. These do not have a tip on them, they are grey plastic. Still deciding whether to put in the maintenance list - which is growing every day! Ours are really bad. I am finding that I am opening the door myself without pushing it and then closing very softly. The vanity doors are sending my 5 year old around the twist as she cannot get them closed at all. So glad we are going to get rid of them and go back to the handles - we have them in our ensuite and I much prefer the handles. Mrs Bigted - I would put them on your maintenance list. Elba know they are substandard. It just depends whether you would be happy with having handles on the vanities. Koroboo with our list these are the little touch ups that should have been done before handover. There are a few things that are on our maintenance list. Mainly paint touch ups, but there are a few bits on the walls that we have found that have not been sanded properly. Our front door does not close properly, our bench lights need to be changed to LED as they are halogen. As I work for a builder, I am quite used to defect lists and the amount of things we need repairing in our house is minimal. Not long now Bricking continues at our place. Looks like the brickies were worth the wait too - they're doing a fantastic job! Looks a million bucks . SS has said that they'd be looking to have the bricking and the gutters and fascia done before the end of next week. Good to see things moving again. Scaffolding goes up early next week and will probably be up for the best part of 2 months I'd say - there's lots to do, moroka, render, paint, stackstone. Should be great to see it all come together New pics up on the blog! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3777Aug 21, 2013 11:48 am Looking good munchi.... what bricks are you having?? Cant wait to see your render and garage door - we are going to go with Grey Moggy, as well as the merbau door. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3778Aug 21, 2013 12:37 pm SS should be getting our file today!!! Oh I hope he does and it's not lost in their move!!!!! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3779Aug 21, 2013 12:44 pm They seem to be set up in the new office now (after a few days teething issues with their phone system). So all should be well with your file! Hopefully they've resolved their issues with admin that we suffered and you guys get all your orders right from the get-go. It pains me to look back and see how much time got wasted because of incorrect orders by the admin people up front. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3780Aug 21, 2013 12:56 pm Pinny - we won't be having any exposed bricks. We really wanted black bricks at the back of the house but we were too nervous about using slurry faced bricks because of all the issues with them so we decided to moroka the house. We're using Grey Moggy as our main house colour with the main section of render being Stormy Shadow and the Cladding in thin ice. All timber on the house will be stained Merbau to match the garage door. Can't wait to see it all come together Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval. The kit home companys wont release plans without a deposit and… 0 4081 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
