My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3413Jun 25, 2013 3:10 pm That is good news Tarsha about your referral bonus - what are you buying me Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3414Jun 25, 2013 5:34 pm robbie55 Personally I've found 3in1's to be quite good in terms of the heater and fan functions - with respect to the light I think you'd always be better off putting another one or two directly above the vanity - Perhaps YHC won't take off the 3in1 but I bet they'll let you add a couple extra above the vanity. The IXL ones we have found to be great. The HPM ones are pretty good too, just not as good as the IXL. The ones we had installed with the house by R are Ventair. These are garbage! The fan is really poor at removing any steam, the heat lamps are lucky to even warm the ensuite let alone the bathroom and the light is pathetic. A candlelight would give you more. We don't care about the light because we put in IP44 rated downlights in the wet areas. Considering the standard inclusions by R, this is very disappointing. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3415Jun 26, 2013 10:40 am Painters were back yesterday and so were the plasterers. I knew we needed some patching on the dark wall at the front of the house, but didnt realise exactly how much patching was needed. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/paris-stella/2E4916CF-E304-4306-95F2-0B5E114CE0DA-12730-0000030AAEFF3B98_zps027830b1.jpg The painters have been working on all the trim work in the house, and they started doing the dark gloss for the staircase, the handrails and the posts. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/paris-stella/14E13602-60B0-4A93-8AB5-1383D7B05D4B-12730-0000030AA860B02D_zps9fed1507.jpg Loving the look of it. Can't wait for the carpet to be installed. Organised home and contents insurance today and have ordered our gas bottles to be delivered on Friday. Now I just have to work on the bank getting the final payment to us. Glad to hear that work is getting done for you. That dark wall looks stunning! Looking forward to out appointment this saturday. I have had samples sent of the kitchen cupboards and such.. I think we have managed to narrow it down to maybe two. I think we are leaning more towards the Polytec black fini wenge.. We are thinking with our floor boards of going a lighter colour so that it's not too dark and almost contrasting to the cupboards and then the decking once we get that done. We have gone with dark cupboards and it will be very light elsewhere. We have white floors and white walls. I think it will be a good contrast with the dark cupboards and lighter wooden floors. Just booked in the TV aerial. For some reason I assumed that Rawson included an aerial as standard. Luckily I asked our SS last week and he said that Rawson dont do them. JTM were you asked if you wanted an aerial in your electrical appointment. We were not asked, so I assumed it was standard. Fingers and toes crossed that handover goes well! Update: The Rawson sign is up and the piling is getting poured today. Should have the piping going in from tomorrow and we should have a slab by next friday if the rain can hold off. I'm doing a cruise past site after work this afternoon so progress pics to come on the blog tonight hopefully Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3419Jun 26, 2013 11:27 am Jen1977 Quote: We are thinking with our floor boards of going a lighter colour so that it's not too dark and almost contrasting to the cupboards and then the decking once we get that done. Jen, I think it is very close to that colour! It could even be the truffle lini... I didn't pay much attention to the names last night (Was far too tired!). Will check tonight. Benches will be White Shimmer C-Stone. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3420Jun 26, 2013 11:33 am Quote: Update: The Rawson sign is up and the piling is getting poured today.
