It's annoying though that you have to pester people to get things done. Jen- I haven't organised a face to face with my SS, should I? Good news today, my husband called me from the site this morning to say that there was some action. Lets just say I've had a smile on my face all day. I went to have a look around 3pm to see what they got up to and to my surprise I saw 5 men onsite still working and pouring concrete. Happy days!!! : ) This build is going to be a roller coaster ride, that's for sure! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3265Jun 06, 2013 6:58 pm Bailey - I think you have W - same SS as bigteds. I have heard he is great, so I would ask if you can meet on site. I feel that this Is your build too and Rawson seem very good in that department that its your build too. The more communication you have with your SS the better. Really love his upfront attitude. He only had good things to say about you today. I hope I have a similar working relationship with him! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3268Jun 07, 2013 11:31 am Dropped by our site today for my weekly visit. Electrical going on strong - they should be done today easy. Painting done apart from touch ups and feature walls. Tiler apparently hurt his back, so might be delayed (or hopefully we get someone else with some decent eyesight). Forgot to ask for an estimated handover date with the site supervisor (doh), so I'll email him and see what the plan is. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3269Jun 07, 2013 12:27 pm Electrical Appointment locked in for the 19th June! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3270Jun 07, 2013 1:21 pm JTM: My advice, do as much pre-planning about where you want power points and data and lights etc that you can now, as you'll be busy enough at the appointment and you don't want to forget anything. If you can, get a copy of your plans and draw on it what kind of lights you want, downlights, etc. and where you want the switches to be. Also consider the alarm system and sensors, making sure you cover off all the areas you want to. Then you can spend most of the time at the appointment fine tuning things. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3271Jun 07, 2013 2:55 pm Thanks Koroboo! Way ahead of you Husband started drawing that up yesterday in his graphic design glory style. We also go a copy of the display home layout just to see how over board they went and how many we would really need. Now that we have the prices we can work out what we want with trying to stick to the budget. For those that have your own pendant lights, do we have to have these put in after hand over or can we get the RH electrician to do it? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3272Jun 07, 2013 3:01 pm I was told the 'official' line from Rawson is that they won't accept any owner supplied items during construction (before handover). But that being said, depends on your relationship with your site supervisor/electrician as to whether they'll allow it. Head office certainly don't like it because of any issues with the product, etc. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3274Jun 07, 2013 6:10 pm Cash is king JTM Our feature wall was painted today I was a bit worried as it was so dark, but it looks amazing. Will come back with some photos Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3275Jun 07, 2013 6:18 pm Here are the photos of the feature wall Got a second company to measure up for the glass splashback today. $935.00 supply and fit. With the blinds coming in just under $2,000 and with the carpet and tiles, I am thinking I might go for the tiles option which will be cheaper. Will have to speak to DH later tonight. Still waiting for ours & hoping it won't be too dark. $935 is a good price for your splashback. Our porcelain tiles were about half that & I am happy with them, but I sort of wish I had gone with the glass. ''Taped up" our house today for things the painters need to fix. Handover on Thursday - hopefully! All dependent on painters, fly screens & appliances. Sorry no photos - too distracted by the power of the green tape! I thought it would be about that money. Thankfully working for a building company you can get things cheaper. How did your PCI go?
