Glacier good luck with your electrical appointment, it requires lots of thinking and preparation. We thought we were organised & we still missed a few things! Well I am hoping that I might get a nice Mother's Day present and get the keys to my house by then. SS still not saying dates which worries me as he knows we are renting & have to give 3 weeks notice. We will probably rent for an extra week but I am not telling him that! I really hope we don't have a full 30 week build but we are getting close to it! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2834Apr 11, 2013 7:27 am MelC, I thought electricals would be the easiest. Thanks for the heads up. We may have to go over it again just incase we have missed something. I hope you get a wonderful Mother's day gift. Fingers crossed. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2835Apr 11, 2013 7:52 pm Tondar - any baby news???? Just finished day 3 of gyprock. The upstairs is completed and the ceilings are complete downstairs. They have done the wet areas and have the rest to complete. I wonder if they will complete it by tomorrow. The thing that I didnt know was happening is the external electrical works were started today. Came out to the block to see the driveway being dug up. Tarsha the electrician said "a friend of yours said Hi" I was a little shocked and then he said that the person lived in Darcy's peak. The poor electricians. Our driveway is 30 metres long. It is all clay, but the clay is like rock. It took them ages to dig the trench even with an excavator. We just have to wait a week for the riggers to come out and connect the power to the main electricity pole and then we will finally have power. The problem with the driveway now, all the clay is exposed and it is going to be a nightmare once it rains. I asked the SS as they hadnt already put an all weather driveway down if they can put it down now to cover the clay. Hopefully they do as I can see some trucks getting bogged in there. The other good news is, stairs are booked in for Monday as are the carpenters to start fix out. I am not happy with it, they took the protective plastic off it too early and the stainless steel inserts are all scratched. Maintenance guy is coming on Monday to look at our list of 40 things so hopefully he can fix the scratches without replacing the door (which we paid to frost!) Jen - Glad to hear your place is starting to move along! Tarsha - Your place is looking fabulous, the lounge looks very cosy! My new rugs arrive today! Built the Seaview 36 with Rawson Homes - Read about it on my blog http://lamaisondemorgan.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2838Apr 12, 2013 9:01 am We have 6 brickies on site today! But no sand and cement...! Met the SS this morning, getting our dropped ceiling extended into the pantry even though it wasnt on the plans. So happy. We did pay to get it like on display so I argued it was an error on their part (even though we signed the plans!) Anyway looks like everyone is progressing well... Lets hope we have some good weather for all Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2839Apr 12, 2013 9:52 am Great news s36 on extending the dropped ceiling Went to the house this morning. Gyprockers final day before the finishers move in to complete it. Yesterday the electrician and I noticed that the electrical cable had been cut on one of the stair lights. If that had been gyprockers over we would not have had working lights. The poor man has to come back today which is a 2 hour drive from where he lives to fix the cable before they finish gyprocking. So the electricians are back today. The carpenters are also back today. They are finishing off the external carpentry. That means Eaves, Downpipes, Insulation Prep all done Was advised we'd have lock-up completed just before ANZAC day if all is well! Top stuff.
