Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 28, 2008 11:00 pm Excuse my ignorance (you usually do )
What are the stages of a regular build (if there is such a thing) Our SS is telling us we will have: slab (done) lower level framing (done) upper level framing (done) particle board for floor on upper level (done) roof trusses (done) windows (NOT DONE ) hebel (low level) hebel (upper level) Roof electrical/plumbing gyrock etc I would have thought windows would come after the roof. Re: Building stages 3Feb 28, 2008 11:09 pm dna The list is pretty much how things happened for us. The windows were installed before the brickwork started. strange ... I would have thought roof first but maybe this is normal. Re: Building stages 7Feb 29, 2008 5:46 am Hi DeeElle, I asked the same question to my builder last week
I really thought our roof would be next after completion of frame, instead some of the windows were installed. This is the order for a second story( my build at least) Frame completed Windows Bottom brick work to about head high Scaffolding Roof can now commence with rest of brick work etc Plumber does a rough in Lock up Bill My builder explained to us that it was for the safety of the workers that the roof and upper story cannot be worked on until the scaffolding is up. Any way, that is the order of mine, but I have noticed that other builds are different Mrs B Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30233 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110229 |
