I asked about adding soundscreen between floors and was told this wasn't possible due to downlights. I thought I'd report back for other people's sake. We have managed to get our garage door widened, but because we are through tender (but not contract) they are slugging us an extra $1500 for new drawings in addition to the cost of the door. Also, we were allowed between floor soundscreen with no issues (and we have down lights on the ground floor), which I'm very happy about! KDR Chadwick 41+ Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 488May 21, 2015 5:28 pm FirstTimePDBuilder Just wondering if anyone has increased the width of their sectional garage doors and if so, how much PD charged? Also has anyone had mirrored sliding BIR doors added? And finally have people had 2.5 soundscreen added between floors and in internal walls? Any idea of cost per square metre? TIA Mirrored wardrobe doors are definitely possible and are much better (and cheaper) through the wardrobe people than Stegbar. Thankfully our new BC was excellent and told us that! Anyone had an experience like this? Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 492May 23, 2015 11:28 am tlblhayward corygee Hey guys, in our 'Cook up a storm' upgrade, we are getting "a fully tiled splashback to the kitchen wall and behind the rangehood" however, we've also been quoted for "Category 1 wall tiling to Kitchen rear external wall in lieu of standard plaster finish. $337" Do you think this is a mistake? Anyone had an experience like this? Rear external wall... are you getting tiles on the outside of your house? I think that this could be a mistake... easy way would be to ask your BC. still waiting for the initial phone call from our BC, it's been about a month since we paid our holding deposit... definitely a mistake we will rectify, im just concerned that the "kitchen wall" is the tiny space under the cupboards and around a set reveal window in the corner of our kitchen and not actually the longer kitchen wall. Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 493Jun 20, 2015 2:24 pm We had our WoS appointment last week, went smoothly and we didn't have to compromise anything and were surprised to come under budget. Will post our upgrade costings soon for those who are interested, but RE my earlier post regarding tiles to the kitchen wall - has anyone purchased the 'cook up a storm' upgrade which features a "fully tiled kitchen wall and behind the range hood" to be told it's not actually bench-to-ceiling? At our tiles appointment I asked why we had been charged extra to tile this area and the consultant said it wasn't part of the package and 'as standard' only behind the rangehood is tiled. Now, in the 'design is in our dna' promotion booklet, the accompanying photo features tiles to the kitchen wall, seems 'fully tiled' to me... Not sure if this is something worth pursuing or not, but I just have a tiny feeling we are being ripped off. PD have lumped us with a variation post cut and fill for $3300 for 90 cubic metres of soil removal. Considering they were only going to charge us $2000 initially for removal of all soil, $3300 for 90 cubic metres (leaving us 15 cubic metres) at the time of cut, seems excessive. TIA.
