Whilst it is in my sales quote it's not in the tender. I have colours and electrical tomorrow so I need to specify the sink. Thanks I found this back on page 1 of this thread from Seashoremontague: "Provide AFA Cubeline double bowl undermount sink to kitchen in lieu of standard $1124" Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 142May 14, 2013 11:03 pm jnkbids Mumtomonkeys Imlost We paid about $40 for an upgrade to each of our 2 toilets. Upgrade is shown in the following link http://www.raymor.com.au/products/range/Toilets/name/Andorra%20II/item/13414860 Thanks imlost. That's a good price. The ones I want have the cistern hidden so you just have the bowl and buttons on the wall. Again, hopetoun said this isn't a option for lifestyle customers, yet they are in lifestyle displays I paid $718 each to upgrade (upgraded from Prestige standard toilets) to the ones they have on display. It is called the Caroma Cube Wall Faced Invisi Series II suite with the rectangular wall plate Is this what you are describing? http://www.caroma.com.au/bathrooms/toilet-suites/cube/cube-wall-faced-invisi-series-ii-suite That's the one, thanks heaps. Now just have to fight to let poor ol lifestyle client me have it Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 143May 14, 2013 11:06 pm MummaDJ Back Pocket Hi all can anyone tell me cost to upgrade to a double undermount sink and the model please? I'm so disappointed I had such high regard and expectations and that's diminished since my visit to hopetoun. Compared to other volume builders, their selection showroom is very poor, to say the least. I'm waiting on my SC to get back to me. Been waiting over a week, she's either got appointments, is in meetings, or simply isn't addressing my concerns. Honestly, pretty close to cutting my losses Total downer Funny mine is the other way around my SC is still helping me get answers because my BC only knows one word, if she can be bothered replying, and it's "no", "no we can't" , "no we don't". I have learnt from previous builds you just have to work the system and go around roadblocks. If you want the house enough, you either put up with it, work around it, or cut your losses. Depending what range you are building there are different suppliers. For example, Ask who the plumbing supplier is, then check out their website and tell PD what you want. It maybe more expensive because they do not get deals on all products but at least then you can work out if it is worth the cost. Hope it gets better for you Thanks so much! Totally agree. She said the oter day she will have some answers wed (tom) so I hope she comes back to me with the goods. And yeah, I keep hearing the different supplier thing, I just can't get my head around why they can supply a lifestyle display but not my lifestyle. My previous build was hell and no way will I put up with that again. So, they either get on board with me or I go. Hmmmm, perhaps I'm coming across as unreasonable lol. I just want a home on par with all the incredible displays I see. I've already added 55K worth of upgrades and want to add more and keep getting no. Pfft, makes no sense Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 145May 15, 2013 7:56 am I'mlost, thank you I'm going to ask which Cat those ones are. Not prepared to spend $40, but $7 is ok ! Does anyone by chance have a picture of some of the cabinet handle upgrades? Hope you are all working through all your choices and concerns! You will get there in the end, sometimes it just takes some work and advocacy Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 146May 15, 2013 9:08 am meowsy I'mlost, thank you I'm going to ask which Cat those ones are. You will get there in the end, sometimes it just takes some work and advocacy I went looking at other shops for handles (Bunnings/Masters) and found some handles that we liked. We then took them to the colours appointment, measured them up against "Standard" handle range to check for the drill holes (measured up the holes at the backs of these boards) and will change the handles over after handover. This ensured that we had the correct standard handles. No extra cost here, just our own purchase Here are the Standard ones: Here is Category 1 upgrades ($5-$7??) Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 148May 15, 2013 11:16 am Mumma, thanks ,you're a champion! Quite a range of options in the first upgrade category aren't there! I'm after Cat 1 essastone in bathroom and ensuite, but hoping as we are building an Access home it will be a bit less than that, being smaller bathrooms. We will do that after handover. Ebay is by far cheaper than PD (I'm considering ordering some from the US even with $$$ postage it will be cheaper than the upgrades PD is offering and there are some really really nice ones overseas) - if you go this route, then be sure to measure the handles - or just don't have them fitted and do it all after handover - IKEA sell a template for measuring handle placement. We are having a power point put inside each of the vanities - handy for chargeable toothbrushes and shavers... gets them off the bench. I don't have the costs for the electrical items on me atm, but they were the same as others already on here. Hope it helps! Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 155May 15, 2013 9:11 pm Hi Inglewood, Thanks for those. SOme of those costs are the same we have been given - Slab upgrade espec. I am still shocked at the colourtech upgrade Just two quick questions; 1. How many windows does the double glazing cost cover? 2. What is the upgrade of heating system you have? Thanks Meowsy, our SC suggested we allow $400 per sq m for the Essastone.. It is very expensive! Hi ajd - just to add re heating upgrade, we upgraded ours to the Hx35i - $1886 (Therefore 2 models up from standard - I believe). Information about the different units is on this website - http://www.brivis.com.au We plan to be in our house for a very long time so feel that the savings in the high efficiency heater will be better in the long run. Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 158May 15, 2013 10:11 pm Inglewood, I would check a few things, first thing our bushfire levy was reduced from $5,000 to just over $3000 because we went with colorbond roof. You don't need the sarking required for a tile roof with a colorbond roof so costs should be reduced. We were quoted by PD for the crystal gloss cabinets for a the wall of cabinets but not the island bench $3600, this didn't seem right and when I asked PD if they had quoted for the whole kitchen they checked and confirmed it was only for the one wall. They then put in the tender contract the $3600 price and added that this was only for the one wall. This did not seem right to me so I took the plans and measurements into the Laminex showroom and they provided me with the costs at $988!!!!! I then went back to PD with this and asked for an explanation why they had over tripled the price? They come back with it must of been a mistake and we calculated it for the whole kitchen! That was not true as the guy checked and confirmed it was only for one wall. If I was you I would check the prices with Laminex as to the costs for the product through them. Slab was the same quoted $15,600 because we needed waffle slab with piers, noticed every other house being built in the estate didn't need piers, slab price was reduced by over $4,000 and no longer needed piers??? Hmmmmm very interesting. I'm not worried about the kitchen b/c I only wanted the profile, but they quoted the gloss. That is a shocking amount to up the price! Our bush fire levy does take into account the colourbond roof, must just depend on the area, we have a lot of state forest near by so it would be a high fire prone area. Do you have the screw piles? We need them due to large trees at the back of our block - my brother had all sorts of trouble with tree roots messing with his house and causing the slab to drop and raise so we'd rather have them and not go through the headaches he did with getting things fixed after only being in in his house only a couple of years (he had plaster, brickwork, doors, architrave/skirtings, you name it needing to be fixed b/c the builder didn't take into account the large trees bordering his property) So although we'd rather not have to pay the extra $5000 + we will bc we plan to stay in this house for a very long time and don't want any problems. Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 160May 16, 2013 12:22 pm inglewood Hope it helps! I could kiss you! Thank you so much - it really really helps my planning! (I'm in the middle of the starting-quote process for the Marina41, and guessimating at how much my colours and upgrades might come to.) Anyone got info on the brick upgrades for a double story now they've switched to Austral? I'm not too worried - I was going to get a cat6 Boral since I disliked all the other options but in the new choices, I have a cat 2 and a cat 3 on the short list instead. HD Land settled May '14.
