Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 101May 10, 2013 7:32 pm Mumtomonkeys, I should have mentioned the timber floor costs are on top of the $4999 flooring promo...I was quoted around $1500 for carpets to 3 bedrooms including upgraded underlay- living areas and study and going to be floorboards. Crr, I would hazard a guess as every financial year. I think we will go for Austral Ash bricks, (to me they look so nice and the designers at Hopetoun suggested a few render colours but said Jasper would indeed look nice as render). FTD, aww that's no good.... which cat 2 had you chosen? Could you just have laminate in the pantry? There is one called Portico Marble which is quite nice and ties in with a couple of the Cat 1 and 2 essatone colours.... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 102May 10, 2013 7:51 pm Gees! So which flooring will you go with? Crr, I thnk there might be 2? So the Ash is a light grey? My poor tired eyes aren't working well tonight. In our current home we have harvest buckwheat which I really like, but want something different this time. No idea what though lol. LOVE Melbourne Hawksburn, but doubt cat 4 will fit in the budget Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 103May 10, 2013 7:59 pm Mumtomonkeys, well, we are actually leaning towards one I didn't even get quoted as yet, (Blackbutt), of which I hope to find out the category when we go to Hopetoun tomorrow. Does anyone know whether each item within a particular category will be the same price? Eg I was priced on Cat 3 Spotted Gum, if Blackbutt is also Cat 3, will the price definitely be the same, or could it vary? The reason I ask is that at UTF flooring, the cost of the Blackbutt is in between the UTF prices of Cat 2 and 3 timbers through PD. Hope this makes sense! The Ash brick is kind of a light warm grey, it's hard to explain, even in photos it doesn't come up how it looks... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 104May 11, 2013 10:38 am Hi meowsy! Looking forward to hearing about your day! Does anyone have a price on lights under the kitchen overheads? Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 105May 11, 2013 12:15 pm Mumtomonkeys, thanks! I didn't see your post til now, or I could have asked for you... I asked about Access sinks in terms of the cost of upgrading, they said between $150-$300 from category 2 to 3 sinks, which at least gives an idea.... Got a bit further with selections which is good, definitely narrowing things down and even made decisions on things like skirting. I will update my thread in due course! Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 106May 11, 2013 12:58 pm Mumtomonkeys Does anyone have a price on lights under the kitchen overheads? We got the following price - Under cupboard Lt Triangle lights - $130.90. This is the new style how they do them not. They had to change as apparently as some of the others caused problems when build right in. Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 107May 11, 2013 3:57 pm Thanks mummadj! Do you happen to know where this new type is on display? And cool meowsy! Must feel great narrowing down some of the million choices to be made! And re sinks, access and prestige have a few upgrade options but lifestyle only have the one. Not fair I'm still waiting for a response as to why items can be in a lifestyle display, but I can't have them in my home! Grrrr Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 108May 11, 2013 4:58 pm Has anyone had CBUS automation installed by PD? Just trying to find out a rough price, want to do CBUS lighting, tie in the AC/heating and also home entertainment at a later time. Grrrr Hi Mumtomonkeys, We are also building the Dunedin and had choice of 3 "Lifestyle" sinks when we visited Hopetoun. I agree that Access/Prestige have greater selections, and its unfortunate you just don't have free reign across all ranges. I believe the reason is that access/prestige have a contract with one distributor, and lifestyle has a contractor with a different distributor that does not stock the same products. At least this is how it was all explained to us. Hope this helps clarify things. I wholeheartedly feel, if its in a lifestyle display, I should be able to have it in my lifestyle home. After all, I'm paying for it. Can you tell it annoys me? I just keep reminding myself how perfect the Dunedin is for our family that's what gets me through. I'm currently 5 mins from the mernda display, so when I'm frazzled I go have a wonder through and get all excited again Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 113May 11, 2013 9:48 pm Are you dealing with the SC's from Mernda. We did, and they were a big part of why we decided to proceed with Porter Davis after intially having a really bad experience with a different Porter Davis SC at a different display village. Anyways back to answering your queries. We we're shown 1 standard, and 3 upgrades. We ended up choosing the Raymor Pearl Round Countertop Basin. http://www.raymor.com.au/image.php?thumbnail=360&id=205 We also considered undermount basins for the ensuites and bathroom, and in hindsight didn't go down that path as the Pearl Round Countertop basin's ended up growing on us. I truly can't wait for our build to finish so that we can move into our Dunedin! By the way, which facade did you end up going for? We requested engineers verify if the Mansfield facade could fit on the Dunedin. Our SC really pushed the fact this would be a deal breaker for us and we got what we wanted. I was pleasantly surprised when they decided to add the Mansfield Facade to the standard Facades for the Dunedin! I'm hoping to get out there again next weekend, so will see how I go then. I want the ones that are in the new Essex, at craigieburn, not sure what they are called. Yep, our SC is currently working out of Mernda, she's been relegated to choice office as she's often mobile. I originally found her at berry lane. Love the Mansfield facade, but it's not in our budget we are going with standard seaside. Still waiting to hear back if ths facade s on display anywhere We're getting the 29, would love the 30, but again, stupid money stands in our way Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Re: Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs 115May 12, 2013 5:39 am Mumtomonkeys Hmmm, I was told something different at hopetoun.
