Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 06, 2012 3:41 pm We currently have the porch and alfresco flooring as just basic concrete, is it really worth getting these areas tiled?? Ie is it worth the expense?? Re: Porch and alfresco flooring 2Mar 06, 2012 3:46 pm Why not go coloured concrete? That's what we are doing. Re: Porch and alfresco flooring 3Mar 06, 2012 4:21 pm I agree with green fish.. colored concrete pavement are cost effective and has decent looks. Re: Porch and alfresco flooring 4Mar 06, 2012 4:28 pm Concrete for both was done as part of the slab so was laid already, nearing handover and just wondering if we can get away with leaving it as is or if it looks just too unfinished Porch and alfresco flooring 5Mar 06, 2012 5:07 pm Our portico area we chose to tile with a tile that was the same as our entry tile - the only difference was that it was outside grade. No alfresco area but in our new poolhouse we chose coloured concrete that was then color sealed. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Porch and alfresco flooring 6Mar 06, 2012 7:40 pm We'll be decking ours. Have you considered living with it for awhile to see how it feels? I think that's one of our big learnings from our first build. This time some windows are a no brainer and some need time. Anyway my point is that it's liveable as it is so if you're not sure give yourselves some time to see if it's going to annoy you to look at or if you want levels raised by concrete or decking etc. Re: Porch and alfresco flooring 8Mar 07, 2012 7:00 am I was thinking polished concrete, but our builder doesn't do that.
