Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 05, 2012 8:59 am Hi, what brick colour did you use when building in sandhurst club? we have been told basically ASH only, but driving through the estate, I have seen plenty of other brick colours used. Please let me know when brick colours you used in the estate, in preperation for our colour selection thanks in advance Re: SANDHUST CLUB - are you building there? 2Mar 05, 2012 9:26 am They are a right PITA. The list of bricks you can choose from was so outdated when we picked ours, that most brick manufacturers didn't make them anymore, and their new ones were not on the list!! Also, some bricks that you could choose for single storey, was not OK for a double storey. Basically as long as the brick is light in colour and not red, or those dark ones that are popular now. We chose Boral Coco, which wasn't on the list, but provided a sample to the ARC so they approved it based on the sample. It was conditional on the actual bricks matching the sample, but fortunately they did. Re: SANDHUST CLUB - are you building there? 4Mar 05, 2012 4:14 pm From what I remember, Nougat was OK. Only problem was these bricks chipping and seeing the base colour. Contact the ARC on 8320 5393 and ask for an updated brick list. Your builder should also be able to advise especially if they've built there previously. Also, if you see a home with a brick you like, ask the owners and they should be able to tell you. Re: SANDHUST CLUB - are you building there? 6Mar 06, 2012 8:24 am Interesting regarding Coco. We were told they woudl have to check during the vuild to make sure the actual bricks matched the sample, and if they were darker we woudl have to fully render the house at our expense! (As if.) No one has bothered to check so far. Personally I think it's lighter than some other bricks I've seen being used for double-storeys in Sandhurst Club.
