The beading doesn't look too bad either. On another note I'm sooo tired today I think Maccas breakfast is in order! Went to see Lady Gaga last night It was really good My goodness my feet and everything else hurts... I'm getting too old Re: Tierra at Estuary_NEWS FLASH! PICS UPLOADED! 227Jul 01, 2012 8:36 pm HOLY BLOCK! What an awesome final show!!! Re: Tierra at Estuary_HOLY BLOCK How awesome was that? 228Jul 02, 2012 7:10 am AWESOME!!! Loved it - I even had tears. That is completely life changing stuff. dazandstace What a joke I can't wait to not have to deal with these people ever again. Everything ok??? Re: Tierra at Estuary_HOLY BLOCK How awesome was that? 229Jul 02, 2012 3:53 pm Lady GaGa and the Block final all in one week!, how exhausting!! how great was it! loved that they all went home with heaps of cash! well deserved. Re: Tierra at Estuary_HOLY BLOCK How awesome was that? 230Jul 02, 2012 6:30 pm SS told hubby the heating vent ppl wouldn't move the heating vent! I'm so not happy with this! It has to be moved as far as I'm corncerned I won't move into the house with it like that. Not to mention nothing has been said about the downlight in alfresco being out of whack either. Hubby will be ringing them back to tomorrow to let them know we are not happy with this. It seems like a crappy excuse. How come there is not an issue with this at the display home? How is ours different? It's just some BS people get fed. Apparently the most the vanity can be moved is 70mm, better than how it is, but really??? What do we even have a plan for!? I would love to take a drive the the display to measure it there as it is their standard bathroom to plan so how come it is different case with our fitted against the shower screen??? I am an unhappy customer. They are breaking me down. It's not fair we have a d o d g y house. This is not what I signed up for. If they said we are going to treat you like s#%t and put lights, vents and vanitys in stupid spots and cause endless headaches for you through poor customer service and next to no communication I would of ran a mile. We have built before through a local company and had no issues. Friday I get a rare phone call for an update saying that our fixing stage has been completed. What a joke that was completed and paid for start of May Then I was told floorboards will be delivered next week and then driveway would be laid I told them it was all done a few days ago now Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 231Jul 02, 2012 8:03 pm I'm confused. Don't the contract and plans state clearly where things are to go? Exactly how much tolerance does your contract allow? Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 233Jul 02, 2012 8:41 pm I'm not sure what I can say to make you feel better - I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for how you are feeling.... I feel for you and others who have had issues - you are kind of stuck because if you stand your ground and force the changes (which should happen if things have been done differently to what the contract states) then you risk delaying your move possibly by quite a substantial length of time.... and if you just leave it all as is.. then you will incur costs to fix it yourself.... Either way, it's not going to make you 100% happy. Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 234Jul 02, 2012 8:52 pm Thank you for caring. It is so upsetting. I don't care if it delays things. You don't pay for things to be left like that. This was not one of their cheapest designs either. We are desperate to move in, but don't need to as we are not renting. My husbands uncle does matainance and installations and works for Bonaire. He took a look at the photos tonight and said it shouldn't be like that. He has offered to fix it afterwards but he shouldn't have to. Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 235Jul 03, 2012 8:51 am Hi Stace, stick to your guns they will need to fix their mistakes and your willing to wait for the issues to be resolved, they would be things youd pick up at PCI anyway, so really they should be happy youve pointed them out now so they can fix promtly and get their money! Maybe email a list of exactly what needs to be done and a copy of your plans? at least its in writing so you have something to show consumer affairs. or A Current Affair! sorry not laughing at you. goodluck! Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 236Jul 03, 2012 9:40 am I agree - stick to your guns and don't accept things that aren't to plan ... it's not just you being pedantic it's them not doing what they agreed to do .... you just have to wear them down instead of the other way round. We have taken our building to consumer affairs over our floor tiles .... don't know what will come of it but I couldn't let them get away with supplying tiles that aren't first quality when we well and truly paid for first quality ... Have you spoken to an independent inspector to see if they can help with putting pressure on the builder? Thinking of you ... Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 237Jul 03, 2012 1:46 pm They did the same to me on couple of the lights Specially the light in the powder room was not centrered. They said is can't be moved due to the ceiling (Some B%&%%) Also couple of the heating vents are all in differant locations to the plan. Anyway Now that I have moved in...I barely notice them and the heating is functional (hope it makes you feel better) All the best Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 238Jul 03, 2012 6:40 pm I'm not backing down on the heating vent because I can't even put a light up without covering the vent. In my mind that is a defect. We may have to get a building inspector to check over the whole build. It's unfortunate that it may take that to get treated seriously. My dads cousin saw the photos and is going to show his friend (who is a building inspector) to give us some advise. Today hubby sent SS an sms to ask for a meeting on site, we haven't had a reply yet. We will see how it goes in person with SS before we consider writing a formal complaint of some sort. They did say the vanity can be moved. Looking forward to getting the rest sorted as well. Re: Tierra_I'm officially calling myself an unhappy customer 239Jul 04, 2012 2:21 pm Hi there I was browsing some random threads and photos to kill some time and I came across a photo of your tiled shower base which didn’t look quite right to me. I thought to bring this to your attention in case it’s not meant to be the way it is and you hadn’t noticed. The issue is that your shower base is tiled diagonally to the floor and wall tiles. I haven’t seen it done this way before and frankly it looks a little odd. It is easier to lay this way as there is less planning and cutting involved so it seems to me like an obvious shortcut on the tiler’s part. The fact the grout line does not run to the corner of the shower makes this even more noticeable in my opinion (I’m talking about the third last photo you posted on the evening of 27th June). It may have been done this way deliberately perhaps if the shower drain is off centre to hide it? I’ve attached some photos of what my shower bases look like so you can compare. If you’re not sure how yours is supposed to look like, then have a look at your working drawings- the tile placement may be marked on your floorplan, internals or flooring schedule. Perhaps this is something you discussed with your tiler and SS at the tile inspection meeting if one took place? If you still come to a blank then I’d check the finish in your builder’s display home. Either way, if it is not the way it’s meant to be and you’re unhappy with how it looks then I would not settle for anything less than rectification. Same goes for your other problems I briefly read through. For the sake of settling earlier you will regret not having things finished properly later on when you have to look at them day in day out. Cheers. PS. I think we have the same tile- City Grey Gloss from memory? You have good taste! I wouldn't even bother asking them to fix as I reckon they would just refuse. I've picked my battles and I can live with the shower base as is as long as its not defective in anyway. When hubby gets to go in I will get him to take photos of both shower bases to compare. |
