Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2012 8:47 am We're currently building our home with PD (now about a month from completion) and it appears that we've had a couple of break-in attempts resulting in damage to the bottom of the aluminium window frames. It appears that all but two windows have sustained some damage by varying degrees. I just wanted to ask is if anyone knows how this type of damage is typically repaired or has experienced something similar. Especially with the frames being powder coated, if it was repaired and painted I don't think it would ever look the same. Re: Damaged aluminium window frames from attempted break-in 3Mar 15, 2012 11:19 am The worst of the 2 windows we've now had repaired. They've basically just added a piece of aluminium to cover the damage - not ideal but not much we can do about it. The images are below. Several other windows still have very slight damage at the bottom of the frames but most aren't noticeable unless you look very closely. I don't know whether they can be repaired or not by somehow pulling the dint back out. If they can't be easily repaired do you think we could push PD for some compensation? I know the damage is very slight (refer to the previous circled images in the thread) but getting a new house with several windows with slight frame damage doesn't sit very well with me. Am I being unreasonable?
