Well done

The house is coming along nicely, I love the way your garage door ties everything in.

Your house looks fantastic, love the deck, the romans, the kitchen the lot! We will also be having one of those support things in our pantry as we extended the shelving and kept the window. Hope the tiles get replaced quickly for you. Won't be long ![]() Happy at Home Re: Our M3tric0n story 163Sep 01, 2008 11:35 pm ![]() A matching clothesline????????? Well done ![]() ![]() Yeah, actually we bought the clothesline about 18 months ago and made all of our colour selections around it. Don't believe me? Neither would I! Okay, handover is still tomorrow, the only outstanding item is the glass splashback which is due in the morning, along with a high-pressure clean and sealing coat on the coloured driveway. Unfortunately the weather might play a part with showers forecast so the finishing works to the driveway might happen after handover. This won't be any big deal though because the crossover from the street will be poured at the same time, so we won't be able to use it and the driveway immediately anyway. The removalist, who is booked for Wednesday, will be able to reverse up to the front door without going near the driveway so all is good. Oh, and they were one bedroom light fitting short, a replacement was ordered, but it hasn't been picked up to be installed yet. Oh, and there might be a bit of paint touch-up to occur after handover because the tiler was slow doing his rework. Oh, and the water meter hasn't been sunk and covered with a Fitzroy lid yet and the plumber said today that he didn't know anything about it. Handover has to be tomorrow because Wednesday is not an option for our supervisor, and Thursday is too late because of the bookings we have made for the removalist and phone disconnection/reconnection etc., which we changed once after handover was delayed but we won't do again. We have complete trust that any outstanding issues will be addressed, even after we've handed over the cheque. This is no different to the supervisor having complete trust in us to do the right thing, even to the extent of helping him out by letting him know what trades turn up when, making enquiries for him etc. (The situation was exacerbated today because he was the only supervisor available to the entire region, Philip Island/Warragul to Sale.) It has been a real partnership. But today, many things happened. The split-system was wired up and the tradies inside were certainly enjoying it! The kitchen appliances were installed, the hot water booster/storage unit was installed, the final coat of render to the portico went on, the tiler was finishing up and the cleaner was trying his very best despite work still going on. I'll try my best to post a pic or two to confirm handover tomorrow, then I'll be missing in action from here for hopefully not too long. One big advantage of moving within a town or suburb is that we can take our phone number with us, so once the switch is made between addresses, internet access should be instant. H2B, the romans actually look really nice from the outside as well. I'll put some pics up next time! Geoff - Decophile. I love Romans, going to have these in our living areas. Good luck for tomorrow, hope it goes as smoothly as possible. You are nearly there! Re: Our M3tric0n story 167Sep 02, 2008 11:36 pm ![]() Congratulations on your handover.. hope it went well! IT MOST CERTAINLY DID, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :D Drinks were had, gifts exchanged (that's right, exchanged), a bank cheque went one way and keys went the other. Simple, really. Total construction time from ground scrape to handover was 181 days. Some very minor works remain, such as a paint touch up to the ceiling manhole, and the stainless looking power point covers in the kitchen, and the portico column lights. We've started moving boxes over there and it's pretty busy so I won't be back here for a while. Just a few pics this time, the obligatory cutlery set is proof of handover, Helyn!
