We have a large sloping block, but our developer has agreed to create us a flat pad, big enough to build a concrete slab home on. He also has agreed to cut the land to suit our house design, so we can build a half slab, half pole home.
We have issues with garage and driveway though, so (to cut a long, boring story short) we have whittled it down to a decision between:
a LOW SET/ONE STOREY/PROJECT BUILDER HOUSE - 290m2 costing in the region of $240k
OR
CUSTOM BUILT/TWO STOREY/POLE HOUSE/SMALL LOCAL BUILDER - 240m2 costing in the region of $270k
We like both designs, and both have the same number of rooms etc. We have views so that's a tick for the two storey house, but we realise there may be more costs involved in the two storey house - but the low set house is so much bigger, and less of a headache for less money, but we love the look and feel of the two storey house!! ARGH!!!
What about onsale? (not that I'm hoping we sell on soon!) Are two storey homes more desirable than low sets? I love them, but that's just my opinion!
Anyone with any pros and cons we haven't thought about to help us decide!!???
