Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 15, 2012 12:46 pm Hi all I ve be been watching this forum for sometime now, and since I am venturing into building one, thought it would be good to start a topic to get all your valuable experiences, comments & ideas. I hv gone in for Burbank's (i did read some rave reviews and otherwise about burbank, here) turn key package at Lalor(Grenville Walk). We finalised Burbank from other builders because of their cost-price budget and considering they are one of the top builders in Australia ! The current status is that we are waiting for Land agreement, which is expected to come thru in Mar/Apr. This project by Burbank is going to have 20 Town houses called grenville walk and 14 houses called Pontoon. They both are going to be adjacent to each other. There are more details about this project in burbank site : http://www.burbank.com.au/GrenvilleWalk/ Has anyone has had any experience in turnkey package deals.. or has anyone booked in at Burbank's Lalor Grenville? Is there any thing specific details that I should be looking into when I am signing the contract(i hv just paid the deposit) ? I have read some 'nightmarish' stories here when something goes wrong! so want to make sure that everything is covered. Looking forward to your replies and experiences Thanx Philomina Re: 1st home buyers : TurnKey package - Burnbank 2Feb 15, 2012 1:40 pm Congradulations on signing with Burbank. I am currently building with them and my package is similar to the Turn Key package. So far they have been ok, no major issues. Once my house is complete I will provide my feedback. They are pretty professional and fast once they get on site. Re: 1st home buyers : TurnKey package - Burnbank 9Feb 23, 2012 2:02 pm Noticed that your Topic says: BURNBANK - hope Burbank doesn't Burn you lol Independent building inspection gives you a peace of mind Cost wise around $500 to $600 per inspection If you get at least 2 it will be $1000. If your house is around $250K adding a $1000 for peace of mind is worth it. Saying that if you get a good SS who is willing to explain and listen to you when you point out things ...he may take is personally (human nature). So make a call based on your experience with the SS and build progress.(Follow your heart) Burbank gives you 30-year structural warranty Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Re: 1st home buyers : TurnKey package - Burnbank 10Feb 24, 2012 5:30 am doublej2500 Noticed that your Topic says: BURNBANK - hope Burbank doesn't Burn you lol Independent building inspection gives you a peace of mind Cost wise around $500 to $600 per inspection If you get at least 2 it will be $1000. Re: 1st home buyers : TurnKey package - Burnbank 17Feb 27, 2012 11:04 pm I am also planning to build a turn key townhouse with my partner in a new residential area The way our builder words it we just need curtains and furniture when we move in ! our block is 6m x 25m and our carport is also on a rear access lane. It will be great to watch your progress as most the threads on here show lovely massive family homes and I would like to see what some people have done with smaller town houses What stage are you up to ? We have a deposit paid on the townhouse and are in the midst of council approvals and selections your lay out seems to have great use of space any facade ideas yet? Oh the encumbrance team at our development are the same had to move our carport back a bit to add two drought plants at the rear of the access lane for aesthetics, not a big deal usually but half a metre is a big deal for us little guys! I will probably start my own thread soon once building commences, maybe sooner and have my floor plan etc on there Have fun !
