Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 14, 2012 12:41 pm Hi all, we are building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle Homes. After a issue early on, we have now been assigned a CLE and been to colour browse and we are very happy with the level of service they are giving us. Our new block of land just settled YESTERDAY! so we are wrapt. We have our colour appointment in for the 29th feb and tender a week after, they are indicating a build start around end of april. We thought we would start our build thread for others, as the Manhattan 41 is a new house by Carlisle and want to give other who may be thinking of building this house our experiences with it, as we have gained so much help from others here already. We are at the point now, where we are struggling to get idea's on tile, carpet, wall, kitchen and bathroom colour schemes. We really want a darker tile this time around (came from white tiles, never again LOL). We are pretty keen on a greyish tile, but cant seen to match up nice colours for painting and carpets and cabinets to it. any ideas? Thanks to everyone who posted in the past, as this has been a bible for us upto this point. Re: Building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle - Getting starte 2Mar 03, 2012 10:06 pm Congrats on land settled. By now, you would probably have selected the colour. Anyway, I just joined this forum. On the colour selections, not sure if this idea is good - visit existing display homes of Carlisle and other builders. Gather all good ideas and then go select the best colour combination, which suites personal taste. I'm also building Manhattan 41. Just paid the $1k deposit on 28th Feb. Hope we all share our experiences, as it's a big investment for all of us, and end product should be real satisfying. Re: Building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle - Getting starte 10Jul 02, 2012 9:04 am it was a $15,000 credit if we signed before a certain date, which we did, after being told when the new promo was released in jan, that we could switch at no cost. So the new promo came out, which we felt offed more value and we switched no problems. Then 4 weeks down the track, we noticed that the 15K was no longer within our dealings. They claimed if we switched, then we would loose the 15K bonus. So, after fighting we switched back to the old promo, but because there had been so much time wasted in between the negotiations, they could no longer confirm we could get to site start in time, so the cancelled the whole 15K on us. Even after many letters/emails to management, they wouldnt budge. We were disgusted. We got to tender stage with them and when I explained everything and indicated we were looking elsewhere and going to cancel, you know management never even called to try and keep our business.....i couldnt believe it. in the end we walked away. Re: Building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle - Getting starte 12Jul 02, 2012 7:14 pm bizarrely enough, we would have accepted even less than the original deal, as we were pretty impressed with the process, beside the first sales consultant we had. we even offered a "well what can you do for us now?" thing, and it came back as ZERO. I still have the emails. such a shame as we liked the house and facade., Re: Building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle - Getting starte 18Aug 23, 2012 1:25 am hi..good to hear all of u planning to build manhattan.. my husband and i just bought a land and its ready at mount aiken at craigieburn but we still not confirm which house and builder that we gonna deal with. but in our list there are two houses- manhattan 41 and sahara Q1. both of us hasnt see the agent to discuss all the terms, but as i understand the price is about as displayed. so from u guys who has experience..how much grossly u guys need to top up?i heard that if with sahara q1 henley is about $150k..its too much.. Re: Building the Manhattan 41 with Carlisle - Getting starte 19Aug 23, 2012 10:59 am The final cost of the Manhattan 41- as displayed will depend on the number of upgrades you add-on. E.g. LED downlights, other lights and switches, surround sound wiring, facade etc. Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts. Have you checked your contract for same? 4 10395 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37561 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
