Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 13, 2012 2:19 pm Is there anyone who has put this in their home and has a picture to show the effect? Would really like to put it into our new home but my husband is not so keen on it, I want to show him how good it can look. Can anyone out there help?? We are having it in our new home but the home is still under construction. A few of the displays at homequest bella vista also have it, I think the new roselea has it downstairs and the slander display I know there is a new gyprock cornice called shadowline which is different to a true shadowline cornice, although it may be a cheaper alternative to a true shadowline as they are extremely expensive ( I think our were close to 4-5k) Re: Shadowline Ceiling Cornice/Trim 3Feb 13, 2012 2:52 pm Like anything aesthetic context is key. If you build a very traditional style home, say federation, then I would say a shadow line cornice has no place, if you are building a modern looking home with a minimalist look then most certainly they look great. Personally I think the CSR shadow set cornice is a joke, it completely misses the simplicity of a shadowline cornice To convince your husband, your best bet is finding a display home with it and drag him out there Re: Shadowline Ceiling Cornice/Trim 4Feb 13, 2012 6:04 pm gogo65 The new wisdom two storey at kellyville homeworld has shadowline cornices. Is that for the entire house? Some people get it only put in downstairs and leave out the bathrooms. Our builder is very reasonable with upgrades in comparison to the big project guys, I think masterton would cost a bomb Our home is 52sq, to give you an idea. It could be a good idea to just get it in your living areas. I think it looks fantastic, very modern, no cracked cornices and gives the illusion of much higher ceilings. Re: Shadowline Ceiling Cornice/Trim 8Feb 14, 2012 8:14 pm Thanks gogo65 youve been helpful. I will wait till Masterton come back with a price fingers crossed its not excessive (which is their standard) It looks so nice and yes very modern. Shadowline is much more difficult to install, square set would definitely be cheaper.
