We are looking at the Verona mist stone bench top. Did anyone get this and know how much extra it is on top of the standard stone bench tops?
Also, what cabinets etc. are included in standard? Did you need to add many in?
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13381Feb 10, 2016 8:42 pm I went nuts, of course! I wasn't happy with the standard kitchen so had it completely redesigned. All plans are different of course, but mine (Saville 27) is rather poor in cupboard space so I added a lot. abdm14 How did everyone go with their kitchen upgrades? Cost varies between councils I think. It was a bit more costlier with Penrith council from my memory. Regular one two days and urgent one same day I think Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13383Feb 13, 2016 7:38 am Hi, I just discovered your post while looking for joinery/kitchen companies. Could you please pm me with a breakdown of Davella Kitchen joinery costs? We need to get a few media units and a study area done. In terms of your joinery is there anything you wish you did differently or suggest to do? We completed frame Dec 7 and starting bricking Jan 27. We obviously have XMAS break in there but def a delay in brickies. Our bottom level was completed in a week - we are now awaiting scaffold to be erected for the brickies to start the top floor. Have they estimated when your bricks will start? thanks samantha newport 38. that was fast. when were you released to construction? ours have started but have had delays. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13387Feb 14, 2016 4:31 pm Has anyone else done a fully frameless shower with EB? Back during the planning stage I explained what I wanted and even showed them a photo, and they didn't indicate it would be a problem. Come time to install the shower, they've started installing a 'semi-frameless' shower with a chrome strip across the opening, and I'm having trouble convincing them to provide what I asked for in the first place. I have spoken to my neighbours who are building with different builders and they told me the same story. EBH gives semi frameless as standard and as I understand fully frameless is an upgrade. You can check your contract or variations after home options gallery or Cook's Plumbing. If you find yourself being charged for this, then they must give you fully frameless, no questions asked! From memory, it was between $2000 - 3000. The catch is that it was written into the contract as semi-frameless (with appropriate extra cost) and I didn't pick up on it because I didn't realise what it meant. If I have to pay more again I'll be upset, but I'm more concerned about getting what I want. Initially when I complained they came back and said ok we'll do the fully frameless, but you still get the chrome strip across the opening, to stop the water flowing out. We're still in negotiations about that point. Glad to see someone else has done it though, and it's not a case of "no we absolutely won't do that" from EB's side. Adam Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13395Feb 14, 2016 6:19 pm Put deposit down at the start of the week. Went with London 23. Anyone else building this one? We have a tender appointment in 1.5 weeks. Can anyone tell me what happens there? I know we pay another 2.5k for contract to be made up but that's all I know. On email they said finalising additional items. By this do they mean layout changes? We can't very well finalise any flooring changes without seeing what options we have. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13396Feb 14, 2016 8:54 pm Good to hear are that they are 'negotiable' on correcting their fault (vague communication). Not sure about the chrome strip they are talking about to stop water! During our HOG appt, I asked the girl about the possibility of water leakage and she said there won't be any leak with frameless glass also. Shower will be closed when it's on, and something like the gradient being enough to redirect water flow towards drain! Don't remember exactly, sorry. Anyhow, its a miracle if they are agreeble to change anything after being in construction Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13397Feb 14, 2016 9:04 pm homeofjns Good to hear are that they are 'negotiable' on correcting their fault (vague communication). Mine has no door to close, which is what I think they're worried about. It shouldn't be an issue if they've done the drainage properly though. Does anyone know what the next stage is? Hi Nimsy, We are at the same stage as you.. Did you find your bathroom tiling is sub par.. We found the tiler only applied glue blobs on the back of the tiles instead of applying it to the whole wall.. This leaves weak points in the times and looks horrible from the side.. We are very disappointed at the quality... Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13400Feb 15, 2016 12:49 pm stephaniek88 Nimsy Hi Everyone! I know this is a problem on floor as leaves hollow spots if stepped on over time cracks tiles. I built with EB back on 2009.
