We went through the whole tender and selections process recently. We are building the Lincoln 35 so a similar size house to yours. If you have any questions regarding costs of upgrades etc ask away Also my blog has listed some of the pricing for the bigger items we selected. You can see my blog link below. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10764Aug 15, 2014 9:37 am HawthorneHome Hi Does anyone have any prices for lapped and capped fencing for south west sydney ? with treated pine retaining walls ? I am getting a wide variation of prices from $60 l/m to $78 l/m Also we noticed that a small chunk has been taken out of the top of the slab near the kitchen, slab is indented by dragging something is appears. Is this something that we not worry about or should point out ? Thanks HawthorneHome, We had the same problem, however the SS advised this will be fixed before PCI...and we need not worry. Paulm29, One suggestion would be to get a quote for everything that you want and get it added to the tender...and then cut down on what isnt required later. We were able to negotiate on prices of a limited number of things with the tender presenter, however I was told you cannot negotiate once you sign the tender with your CSA. Just an idea that worked for us Also, there were instances where we were quoted a higher price for an upgrade later...and luckily we had them mentioned in our tender, and EBH had to honour that price. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10765Aug 15, 2014 10:06 am Hi Kellyville, Thankyou for the advice..I didnt know we areable to negotiate. Our CSA is getting our list of requests and putting it all together before the we haveanother look. I guessthe next stage after that is the tender. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10766Aug 15, 2014 10:54 am Well we've customised our house quite a bit... like added the alfresco area into living area to make it massive (will get alfresco made later)...and there were quite a few costs that were added coz of such changes. And we kept on pushing the tender presenter to cut a few hundred $$$ here and there...and it worked for us! Also got the presenter to upsize our windows in bedrooms for no charge, plus changed facade windows to look like another facade...for no additional cost So yeah. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10767Aug 15, 2014 11:23 am Wow, thats very good to know. At least I know what I am up for when I go see the tender presenter.
kellyville, Are you building at the moment? if so, where? and what design? I have a made number changes as well, one was a structual change to the back family & dining where it meets the alfresco, We want to get rid of the middle column so we can have indoor/outdoor effect. I got quoted 10k because we will need a steel beam to hold top level and also extra stacker doors...Im sure itd be worth it the end. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10768Aug 15, 2014 11:24 am They lie to you when they say they use a steel beam.... It's a timber truss they actually install. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10770Aug 15, 2014 12:07 pm Building a Manchester 25 in Kellyville. Initially it was a manchester23, however we ended up moving the back wall further by a meter to make it 25sq. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10771Aug 15, 2014 12:12 pm HeathWilD They lie to you when they say they use a steel beam.... It's a timber truss they actually install. Wow really? That means we've had several people from eden brae lie to us. Of course they try and put on any kind of price but I'm not convinced it will be effective but this has costed us almost $10,000 for wood trusses! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10772Aug 19, 2014 3:48 pm Hi all, Just recieved a call from DiLorenzo telling me that my mosaic for my bathroom has run out? I don't understand they can let you decide 6 months before and now you need to select again. My concern is that i do not find anything that suits. Has anyone encountered this or a similar issue? Thanks, M Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10773Aug 19, 2014 4:02 pm mystro Hi all, Just recieved a call from DiLorenzo telling me that my mosaic for my bathroom has run out? Thanks, M A fair few of us have had this problem. Its a real pain, but there is no way around it apart from choosing another feature tile. That or EBH would have to overhaul the way they allow their clients to do their selections...fat chance of that happening LOL. I tried to get around the problem of tile selections becoming obsolete by asking what tiles have been around for a while, which ones are short runs or likely to end, & which ones are the long term styles that are unlikely to be ended, when I did the selections. Not sure if this will make a difference, but it did help on the day to know a rough projection of what tile was coming to an end & what was still in full production. I guess I'll find out soon enough...received CDC approval yesterday Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10776Aug 20, 2014 10:59 am Had the same issue with Di Lorenzo a couple of week ago, but it was the kitchen splashback tiles for us. The worst thing was that we're in lockup stage already, and Di Lorenzo wouldnt let us select any italian tiles as they take a long time to be delivered. Had to settle with another selection that we dont like as much. I even raised it with my CSA that why werent we told about it earlier...so that we wouldve had more time to select a tile and then get it sourced via them, nothing came out of it. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10777Aug 20, 2014 11:05 am Hi Kellyville75, You should wait it out until they arrive and then have them installed. Just make sure you dont make a mess in the kitchen. If your not happy with a decision its something your going to live with for a while. Cheers, M Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10778Aug 20, 2014 11:11 am Surprisingly I was told by my CSA she'll get back to me regarding the other selections we had...to see if she can pull some strings. To my dismay...I went to the house a couple of days after this conversation...and the tiles were already installed. Was a very disappointing experience I must admit. The tiles dont look that bad but the way things worked out...I was annoyed at that. I'm starting build soon so any hints would be greatly appreciated Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10780Aug 22, 2014 3:20 pm mystro Hi all, Just recieved a call from DiLorenzo telling me that my mosaic for my bathroom has run out? Thanks, M Hi Mystro, You are not alone we have had the same issue well at least your were notified. We discovered that all of our tile selections have been discontinued when we visited DiLorenzo to check our selections 2 months ago. EB made us choose the tiles since last year August and here we are now and nothing has been started yet very frustrated and disappointed with the service from EB. I built with EB back on 2009.
