Mate the best you can do is let them know that your friends had the modifications and tell them you are happy to provide details. I thought her reasons were frankly, nonsense and inconsistent given some individuals within the same estate have made structural changes. Building a home isn't something one does all that often and with such distasteful experience what is certain is that I will not be building again with EB again. Thanks for the initial advice everyone - much appreciated. Hi Lancaster, I'm sorry to hear that you've received this outcome. My only other suggestion is to appeal directly to the developer and cite the design rules that EBH have used as their evidence (providing EBH gave you the developer rules that they are leaning on), & state your case explaining why you need the change (eg: I need to fit ...., I require ... space configuration requirements due to ...), backing up your reasoned approach by citing how your build - if modified to suit your needs - would not encroach on Council regulations, the Building Code of Australia (2014), & any relevant Australian Standards & other requirements (eg: BASIX, public amenities/easements). Whatever you decide to do in terms of your approach, I wish you all the best with it. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13247Dec 13, 2015 11:30 am I am seeing that the base for airconditioning unit is not poured with the base. Please can some one adviced when/what stage it is poured. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13248Dec 13, 2015 11:33 am Vennie, I believe that no slab is poured usually. Instead the AC slab is mounted on concrete pavers when installed. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14. Contract signed 22/10/14 Construction commenced September 2015 PCI 7/3/16 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13249Dec 13, 2015 11:48 am Hi Vennie. Did you request the aircon slab to be included to the house slab? If not the the AC will be on the paver. If yes check the drawing if they amend your slab else nobody is aware of your request. I could be wrong here but thats my understanding when I did the request. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13250Dec 15, 2015 10:52 am Hi Desibloke, lets just say I can't deny that it wasn't her. Pixie, I may just do that. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13253Dec 16, 2015 8:05 pm Has anyone done anything about a 5mm gap between gas/oven range (free standing Baumatic cooker) and the benchtop? I asked the question to Kitchen Culture to provide a option for it and they said there is nothing they can do as the 5mm gap is required for ventilation, my concern is the spills from cooking it will be a mess. ----------------- Eden Brae Cremorne Blog : http://newhouse.gores.com.au Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13254Dec 16, 2015 9:07 pm Hi Lancaster. We bought a H&L package and were told before we signed and put deposits down that no changes were allowed structurally and also no changes were allowed to the facade / external colors. As such we accepted it and signed away. Along the way we did query it as we wanted to make some structural changes however were told we couldn't we didn't make a big deal as we couldn't say we didn't know. Then we got to the colors app and saw that the external color scheme selected was different to the facade shown on the paperwork we had seen originally. Mind you we drove up to Heritage Parc as it was the only place they had it on display to make sure we liked those external colours. We were told that the picture (as written in the small print) was only a impression and may vary etc. we knew we weren't going to get anywhere so again we didn't push it. However it does seem inconsistent seeming as though some have had differing experiences. I'd think if you can satisfy design requirements of the estate then why is it an issue for them. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13255Dec 16, 2015 11:11 pm Hi Ausman, I had the same issue and went to few kitchen places every one said the same nothing can be done. But one person said you can get timber wedge like and place it in the gap. I didn't like that idea. I have then changed to built in baumatic. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13256Dec 17, 2015 1:04 pm Hi paul_willowEBH, my thoughts exactly. I just think that EB could do better than the excuses they have provided. Good luck Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13257Dec 17, 2015 1:28 pm Thanks Desibloke. I rechecked with KC and they said I should be able to pull out the entire range if there is a need to clean. Bit of a relief. ----------------- Eden Brae Cremorne Blog : http://newhouse.gores.com.au Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13258Dec 18, 2015 7:37 am If you are worried about freestanding cookers, why don't you upgrade to a separate cooktop and built-in oven? That's what we did: separate 90cm oven and 90cm cooktop. It's not cheap, but totally worth it in my view. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13259Dec 18, 2015 12:17 pm Ausman Thanks Desibloke.
