She dealt with the Construction Manager to fight it out. I just sent her photos to my CSA and Jason - it was approved straight away. Took ages to get the painter out here though hence why it was only finished off yesterday. As we have been told by EB that it should be faster than going through with the local council. I have been chasing our admin lady but she keeps saying that nothing has been updated and still waiting since 19th May. Building Manchester 22 at Gregory Hills Thanks Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10627Jun 11, 2014 12:18 pm Eve, do you mean complying development approval? We were told between 3 to 6 weeks by our CSA, but others have been real lucky and gotten theirs within 10 days. Ours took a little over 5 weeks. We were so busy with finalising our PCVs that it didn't really matter that it took that long. Kerith, bricks look good. I'm not quite sure if thats what they mean but we've been told its the CDC approval, and once this is received they can start construction Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10629Jun 11, 2014 1:11 pm Eve, yep the CDC is the development approval. Once you receive this, there will be a few other things that you (and EBH) will need to finalise before your file gets released to construction. However, your CSA should explain this to you once the complying development certificate is received. Building Manchester 22 at Gregory Hills Thanks Hi Eve22, in our case it took 10 working days, two weeks almost and we built in Oran Park. Did they do it all the way around? Is it painted to match your bricks like BH? I discussed this with my SS and our bricks vary in colour paint wouldn't work like BH beautiful brickwork. So for us the problem couldn't really be fixed. Eve you guys should be close. Have you been checking EB connect ? I saw the update on there before CSA told me Eden Brae Drysdale 27 | The Blog Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10633Jun 12, 2014 9:19 am Hi hassanbegg, ours is more than 10 days so far but we cannot do much I guess Hi Renski, trust me I'm on that page everyday more than once lol, I'm just wondering what will happen if we dont start construction as mentioned in the contract due to EB delay not ours we should get a price reduction??? "wishful thinking" Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10634Jun 14, 2014 11:00 pm We really hate the splashback tile we have chosen. Does anyone know if we will destroy the gyprock trying to remove it to redo it? I recall a few people on here had their tiles laid wrong so it had to be redone, do you know how they removed them without re-doing the gyprock? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10635Jun 15, 2014 4:29 pm HeathWilD You say negotiate on the land like there aren't 40 people behind you in the queue. If only that were still an option out here... You mean 40 people infront of you in the queue ?? I know how hard it can be to secure a block of land, especially in North western Sydney ! Baulkham Hills Heath is spot on. Your SS is obliged to fix ALL defects regardless of which inspector picked them up. As Howard is a registered/ licensed building inspector, IF he picks up issues that are not to standard then your SS has to fix them. If your SS refuses then you can refuse to agree to settlement until the defects are fixed. Did howard pick up big issues or was it just the minor things like paint and plaster touchups?? From what I have read on H1, it has to be written in contract that builder has to fix all of the defects. Some 'defects' may not be defects at all. It might not be upto your satisfaction, but still be within the standards. You can't do anything then. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10636Jun 15, 2014 4:33 pm So we had to choose between the Providence 26 from Wisdom and Sheffield 25 from EB. Sheffield won. So I might now ask for the local office to provide us with a tender on how much its going to cost us to build. I believe it costs $750 to get a tender ? Does anyone know if EB prices have gone up already. I got an email from them that prices are going up in June (single storey by $2000 and double storey by $3000). Thanks Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10638Jun 16, 2014 9:57 am Sydney-build HeathWilD You say negotiate on the land like there aren't 40 people behind you in the queue. I think the point that Heath and I were making was that any defects picked up by a licensed BUILDING INSPECTOR will be required to be fixed by your SS. It is not if it is up to yours/our standard or not. If it has been listed down as needing to be rectified by a building inspector then SS is obligated to fix the problem. The building inspector would know what is up to BCA standards or not and will view the house with those standards in mind. No phone call or email yet to say i am ready for construction. What is holding them back from starting? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10640Jun 16, 2014 3:00 pm Mystro, we have been waiting to hear from EB for the past 20 working days regarding our CDC approval which we were told its faster when submitted with a private certifier "Clearly not the case", only to chase them last Friday for any updates reg. approval, been told that some changes to plans are required due to acoustic requirements. My advice here you have to follow up everyday they tend to take their sweet time in delivering updates to clients very frustrating... Good Luck I built with EB back on 2009.
