My PCI is booked on Wesnedsay (16/04).
Does any one has a list of things that needs to be checked in PCI. Please share your experiences.
Hi Rose this is the check list someone post few months ago. I hope this helps
The majority of your issues will be paint and plaster. Check walls, skirting, cornices and ceilings for marks.
Check your tiles (floor, bathrooms) for chips, missing grout, cracked grout. If a tile looks suss then give it a tap. If it makes a hollow sound then it needs to be replaced.
Step onto the threshold where carpets join tiled areas. Sometimes the nails holding the carpet down are sticking up. Its not nice to step on them. Get them hammered down.
Check the glass panels in your doors and shower screens. We had a full glass panel in the laundry door replaced as it had been scratched in several areas.
Same with mirrors. We had scratches and mirrors had to be replaced.
Make sure that windows open and close smoothly, doors open and close smoothly. Locks on doors work.
Check that all your taps and showers turn on and water drains well. Make sure you check your outside taps as well.
Check water pressure by turning on a few taps and showers at the same time.
Bring along a phone charger and check that every single power point works.
Turn on your rangehood and check all 3 fan speeds, light etc are working.
Turn on and off all your lights to make sure that they work.
Check all vanity benches, basins and taps are mark free and open and close vanity drawers and cupboards to make sure that they open and close smoothly.
Check you kitchen benchtops. If you have stone make sure that it is mark free. We had a gouge in our benchtop that had to be fixed.
Open and close all kitchen cupboards and drawers to make sure that they open and close smoothly.
Check carpets are anchroed down along edges. We had issues with the edges of our carpets that got fixed during the maintenance period.
Make sure that ALL your flyscreens are there...we had one missing from master bed window.
Check bricks for chips, missing mortar, gutters are not dented etc
Best to go from room to room and check things in a methodical manner. You shouldn't be worried about PCI but excited as that will be the first time that you will see your almost complete house (your hot water, air con unit, microwave, oven and dishwasher will be installed prior to your presettlement inspection or just after it).
