"........Honestly the delay is that there are currently other files in front of yours. Due to the rain delays we had a week or two ago it pushed the site file production back a little. I have asked management to give me a site start date and will advise as soon as I am told....." Credit to my CSO she's been amazing Its good that you have posted your CSA reply on here as it lets others know why there is a delay if they are still waiting for construction to begin. It is better knowing why the delay is happening rather than being left wondering sohnaeo Horward has been booked for PCI inspection on Monday and we are doing inspection on next Thursday. Good for you paint work has been started, you are not too far from PCI How exciting for you guys. I know you still have a lot of issues with things that need to be fixed. Do you have a right to refuse settlement if not everything has been fixed up? It would be a hassle to wait for the 3 month maintenance inspection before things get fixed properly. welby Hi guys just a quick post to say we are in Nilly didn't happen on friday, problem with the ioc being released due to no certificate for the roof sarking 20 minutes before our settlement appointment they ring to tell us and then tell my wife hopefully we'll call you back today, well that was a bit silly of them After she nilly jumped through the phone we had another call about 45mins later saying they had it Will get some pics up on Monday when i get the internet hooked up. It would be a hassle to wait for the 3 month maintenance inspection before things get fixed properly. That's what Houdaman did, you can refuse settlement if things are not fixed up your satisfaction, you can escalate to the EB management and take it from there but I am optimistic and hope problems would be fixed, dont want to think about delaying settlement. I have already sent my concerns to SS 2-3 times so in case if something is not fixed, I should have everything in written. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3117Mar 12, 2013 11:58 am alok I'm in the same boat. We've had our colour selection appointments and signed off on half the quotes already. Yet the home page still says we're at the 'initial deposit' stage. Great system, I just don't think it's being utilised very effectively by EBH staff. Are you surprised? Our admin side has been a real pain.. Every pcv has mistakes in it, then when i point them out, they just blame one of the sub contractors... I am getting really really annoyed now, as i am having to basically do their job for them... Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3118Mar 12, 2013 12:09 pm Hi All, We are thinking of building with EBH and found this forum by accident (fortunately, as it's been great!!! So much information that we did not know. It is our first time building a house, did not realise that there were so many aspects to it). Can I please kindly ask if anyone can help us, as we are a bit unsure of a few points: - EBH sales rep said their price is fixed, no bargaining allowed. Did anyone else got the same response? I would have thought given the $$$ we've put in, there would be place to haggle the price even for a bit? - We read through productreview website and was very surprised by their rating (same with all the other major house builders apparently). These range from leaking roof, bad customer service, failing appliances, etc. Is there anyone who have had these types of bad experience? I've read through the early pages of this thread but have not found a big deal breaker yet (up to page 19 now, phew). What I picked up was to be vigilant on the price and inclusions. We are thinking of building in Kellyville and if we do go through with EBH, we'll probably go with the Heathcote37. Thank you again in advance for this, it's a big change for us and would not like to spend years regretting what we should or should not do. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3119Mar 12, 2013 1:28 pm Baulkham Hills Lawson22 Did anyone get that build sure guarantee in their build. In our contract it says the build is 27 weeks but in the tender part of the contract it says we have the build completion guarantee of 20 weeks for single story and 24 weeks for 2 story. The paperwork is at home but just wanted to see if it was right? Our admin is at 10 months at the moment The sparkle of building a new house is slowly fading! I would say that the 20 weeks would be if you are building their standard house and have not upgraded anything. We are building a single storey house, but our contract says 30 weeks to completion. I m sorry it is taking so long to get to building stage. Do you know what you are waiting for? Is it land to be registered? Or something else from EB's end? Our contract states 28 weeks (single storey)- we only signed 2 weeks ago - we questioned the timeframe as we had seen here shorter timeframes and we were told this is the new standard for single builds and I forget what she said for two storey - our contract person was very much on the mark with everything. Perhaps it may also depend on areas - if they are having delays due to trades etc naturally they will make the contract time longer to cover themselves.
