We just gave the bank the tender and all PVC's and they let us borrow the full amount of them all?. I recently read on this forum that beofre you go to contruction you have to pay a 5% deposit on the upgrades etc?. Just to make sure...you dont have to pay the full PVC amount before construction do you?. Its hard to get a straight answer out of EBH sometimes! No you pay only 5 % of the total including all pcvs. Hope this helps. Hi Taps, welcome to the thread. Where abouts in the ponds are u building? Do u have a blog?? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 987Sep 18, 2012 11:06 pm Hi Rabsta, we are building @ Lakes Edge. I currently don't have any blog. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 988Sep 19, 2012 9:56 am Hi taps-saville25 and welcome!! I'm sure you'll get lots of information here Danandliz with the finance stuff that's what we did as well. Didn't put allowance, didn't realise we needed to. But we got the whole loan amount as well. Actually we were short by $900 that we paid before at slab before the bank paid anything. We received a call from the SS who said PCI should be next week! They need to put in shelvings in closets and touch ups. The brickies that were there on Saturday were fixing the bricks in the alfresco area cos the SS wasn't happy with them. After all the issues with the land we've been really lucky with our build. It's been 3months since the slab. Hope everyone's build are going well The four of us are ready for the next big step in our lives! (Obviously I didn't read all the fine print!) Our build is already 35 weeks with any additions The only one who can tell you how many rain days is god himself. At the end of the build you would need to ask how many rain days they will claim. They should be counting rain days as they go. Same for supplier delays - ask at the end. -- I bit the bullett and contacted management yesterday in regards to the issues we have been having. I received a call 30 mins later from a friendly felllow named Peter, and booked in an inspection with the SS, Peter and ourselves for this morning. Obviously Peter's job is to smooth things out and make the client happy and he has done this. We pointed out all the bricking issues and they were all noted down. 4 windows sills will be replaced and a random bricks all over the house will be replaced that were installed crooked. Most of the mortar inconsistencies should also be fixed. We're hoping for settlement before the long weekend. Fingers crossed Houda ---- Built the Lincoln 35 at Georges Fair Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 990Sep 19, 2012 10:29 am I couldn't agree more with Taps-Saville25. This is the best forum ever!! We're building Foxley 30 with Oakland Facade @ Kalina - The Ponds. So far everything has been very smooth with EB. We got a very good admin who's really professional in responding any of our requests. The built is to be start early November .. finger crossed. There are still heaps of things that haven't been finalised like tiles/carpet, a couple of PCVs, etc.. I'm seeing heaps of future neighbours here Building with EB - Foxley 30 @ The Ponds Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 991Sep 19, 2012 12:57 pm HoudaMan Kerith Does it say in the contract how many rain days & supplier delay days? Our build is already 35 weeks with any additions I remember seeing a tip from this forum to write a diary on the rainy days starting from the start of the construction until time when the builder finishes installing the roof. The builder shouldn't claim any rainy days after the roofing is installed. I have been so impressed with the dealings I have had with them (what a horrible job they have LOL). Responded very quickly to my email, talked, listened and then followed up with a phone call weeks later, making note of any feedback I had for them. At no time did I feel like they were rushing me or trying to get me off the phone, in fact, I was the one trying to end the conversation! You can download the daily rainfall data from BOM website for free. checkout the website http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/data/. Just select your nearest station. Hope this helps. I’m interested to know. Did you end up finding a building inspector specifically for bricks in the end? I think we are going to end up in the same basket as you as we have crooked bricks, mortar and general bricking inconsistencies. Thanks Scarfy Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 996Sep 19, 2012 7:40 pm Thanks Taps! Does this only apply when there is no roof? Welcome newbies... I've been really busy at work the last few weeks, but just noticed its been two weeks since we have done colours... How long did it take to have your colours finalized... We have had our plumbing variation signed but that's it. I emailed HOG the night after our colours to confirm a few things but they only replied today. And secondly, how long after your council approval did your build commence? Thanks in advance.
