Our house building blog: http://shellgavshouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 807Sep 05, 2012 8:48 am You know what Eden Brae's problem is, they take on too much work with so little staff...One SS could like over 20 houses, thats crazy! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 808Sep 05, 2012 9:21 am Nawkaw are a company that do bricks/masonry restorations. Apparently they have technicians that come onsite and professionally repair chipped bricks. I guess this means a painter comes onsite and paints the bricks. http://www.nawkaw.com.au We will see this afternoon anyway, as Nawkaw have turned up at our house and have started this morning photoimpressions You know what Eden Brae's problem is, they take on too much work with so little staff...One SS could like over 20 houses, thats crazy! Definitely, but it's not just EBH. R homes write their SS's name on the sign on the front fence of each house, and in Georges Fair Moorebank, nearly every R home has the same SS name. (From what I hear from neighbours, R have just as many issues as EBH) Houda ---- Built the Lincoln 35 at Georges Fair Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 809Sep 05, 2012 9:22 am Our administration process was very different to everyone else's as we were delayed due to land settlement and we came very close to missing the construction start date because of it. So we didn't have issues getting PCVs sent on time. We didn't have any issues with Abbey Blinds either we got the quote within a week. And now I've been in contact with them regarding change of colour and they have been quick and very helpful Sent samples as I can't drive (have a newborn and c section) I agree EB must have taken on too many jobs and not enough staff. Our SS has over 20 houses too. Hubby used his driving lesson to go to the house on the weekend and we have the sensor lights, alarm and down pipes installed. He couldn't go into have a look. Will be hard to go every week. But going by the timeframe SS gave us we are looking at 6 weeks - but we'll c how we go.. HoudaMan and Sydbuild - hope settlement comes through and all the issues are fixed... It would be frustrating getting so close!! The four of us are ready for the next big step in our lives! Building with Eden Brae - Foxley 30 @ Gregory Hills Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 810Sep 05, 2012 11:05 am I heard they have up to 50 houses that they supervise at once! I asked EBH management how many clients a CSO has to look after - about 30 in admin, about 30 in construction and about 30 in maintenance! I was under the impression would be one SS for one house. There are already 3 houses being build by EB in my street so I am expecting same SS for my house as well.
Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 812Sep 05, 2012 11:35 am And I think you will find EBH are no different to any other builder! It looks like a great house. I hope all falls well for you soon. I want to know what facade do you have? It looks good. Still confused with the facade. Who else is building with Eden Brae? 814Sep 05, 2012 1:35 pm Jewel, thank you. It's the Harvard facade. Settlement is booked for Friday. We shall see!!!! Brickies were onsite this morning though so that is a start. Our house building blog: http://shellgavshouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 815Sep 05, 2012 1:41 pm Woah that is alot of houses for one person to handle, I think the problem is they dont have a dedicated tradie for one house. Like the brickie and carpenter I had were doing a few other houses on the same street. So this means my house had to wait for the other house to finish and they can start mine which was pretty annoying! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 816Sep 05, 2012 3:52 pm IMO one tradie should not leave until the SS comes and inspects.. then when he is satisfied the next tradie can come in. This is what any builder will want us to believe.. in reality, it doesn't happen. You're lucky. I didn't have any delays because of land settling and I missed my allocated start date - it was July. I am still waiting for my DA check (they've had it three weeks - and there is only one change of a slightly bigger water tank) then I need to get the final contract for the bank (and final approval) and then the correct final plans. I don't anticipate starting to October or possibly even November. The allocated start date is just another gimick - every builder has them. As it is I need to apply for an extension for the FHO Grant. Dearheart Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 818Sep 05, 2012 7:15 pm Went past the house tonight and Nawkaw had been there and fixed up a lot of the big chips, but left quite a few noticeable ones around the garage doors, alfresco and front entry - all the spots we specifically asked to fix as they are on highly visible areas. The roof tilers were there this afternoon and left shortly after we got there. There were 3 areas of the roof that had to be looked at, and all 3 locations were left untouched! Looking through the windows, we can see the tiling around the alfesco stacker door and kitchen wall have both been repaired - and we are happy with this One step forward - two steps back Houda ---- Built the Lincoln 35 at Georges Fair Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 819Sep 05, 2012 7:22 pm Stand firm, Houda - do not give them the final payment until you are happy because it sounds like you might have issues otherwise. Hard as it might be because you just want the keys, I think you will be thankful in the long run. I hope they get it finished in time. We went up to our place tonight and I am VERY happy to report the brickies have been and replaced all of the broken bricks on the outside! The painters were there doing some touch ups and are doing the Moroka in the garage tomorrow. Then all that is left is a very big clean up and we are good to go for settlement on Friday Our house building blog: http://shellgavshouse.blogspot.com/ I built with EB back on 2009.
