Just wanting to get some suggestions around the layout for wall tiles in the bathroom / ensuite - Horizontal or Vertical? Please share your thoughts.
Thanks!
We went with horizontal as that was what James Treble recommended.

So far I'm looking at Empire Zoyisa or Palmetto Buffalo. Any thoughts/suggestions please? Also, any suggestions on the front and backyard tree (1 each) and native/exotic plants would be appreciated. With the trees and plants, if they are useful in day-day life if possible that would be great. Thanks much! Hi voz, If you're looking at your plan & using it as inspiration to wonder about what you're actually going to use in your final landscaping, here are my thoughts... I used Sapphire turf, which is soft, very low & slow growing, & is very hardy in shaded areas (which is what I have in my inv. property by EBH). I also selected a mid height variety of banksia tree for the rear yard, to bring shade in a few years, but to also attract native birds & insects (butterflies) to the yard. The banksia doesn't have excessive roots nor is it difficult to maintain or prune. Feel free to PM if you'd like my landscaper for when you're ready to commence your yard retainers & greenery.... I am a gardener by trade and worked on a landscaping job in Maroubra a couple of years ago. They were KDR, and all their plants had to be native to the area, and drawn on their landscape plan and the council wouldn't provide a final occupancy cert until all those plant were in. Living in Sutherland, I know they are not as strict on each plant used, but can be a bit fussy on sticking to the landscape plan they have recieved for DA or CDC. As a gardener, my personal preference is natives, they are meant to grow here, they will grow well, and in general are very easy to maintain. I could give you a list of 1000 plants I would put in but gardens are such an individual thing, you'd be best to go to a specialist nursery (not bunnings or flower power) and speak to someone about what you like, heights and widths of plants, flowering, non flowering, fruiting, evergreen, deciduous, annual, perenial, and the list goes on.... As for turf, most buffalo is pretty good these days. The ones you have mentioned will be fine, as will Saphire as PixiGT mentions. Sir Walter, although a bit of an older 'model' now will do pretty well too. Buffalo is shade tolerant (probably needs about 3hr of sun a day) slower growing and nice and soft for a yard. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14378May 16, 2017 10:35 pm Hi All, Question on the underlay for carpet - Is it worth going for the Medium (called as Gold) underlay at $5 per sqm? I noticed there isn't much difference in the thickness? - I may be wrong, please share your thoughts and experience. Many thanks! We were advised (and lots of people suggested it in this forum) to go for the thickest underlay so we went for the 10mm one. I think it was $8 per sqm. I built with EB back on 2009.
