This allows for someone independent to come and inspect things like structural issues and installation of insulation batts. We had some upgrades in these areas and the independent inspection was very valuable. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14068Jan 06, 2017 5:23 pm @mikegrg1: we got Stephen Ryan to perform the inspection. Mention that you're a homeone forum user and you might get a discount. I live near the bush , not sure what type of pest control I should do . also, for me, independent inspection on the handover date is 100% a waste of $$$. Been told by inspector that it mainly about the cleaning , and small things, but EBH has done a good job. If you want to get an independent inspector, get it at frame or linen stage. It's worth more. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14070Jan 09, 2017 9:10 pm @Steven_La: Using an independent inspector at frame stage is definitely worthwhile as the things to look out for might not be as obvious as during handover (when indeed it's more visible). But even then, the quality of your build will be highly dependent on the tradies that worked on your build and how well it has been followed up by your supervisor. It might have been a waste for you, but it certainly wasn't for us. Just an example: I missed quite a few drummy tiles and poorly laid roof insulation. I consider an independent inspector to be "insurance". If it turns out you didn't need it - great. If it turns out you did - even better. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14071Jan 11, 2017 8:57 am Question to all Cremorne builders: we're looking at different ways to fit out the walk-in-robe of the master bedroom and I've now noticed that the manhole providing access to the roof cavity is in a bit of an awkward spot there. I guess it's important to leave it accessible, so any plans we had of installing full height robes with sliding doors is off the table due to the location of that manhole. We're keen to not simply have some shelves in there to simplify cleaning. Any creative ideas people might have had and are willing to share? We were just notified today that we are now in construction and were assigned a supervisor. How long for a call from supervisor and putting in slab? Thanks a lot.. Was around 2 weeks for me Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14077Jan 17, 2017 1:05 pm mikegrg1 How long did you had to wait for brickies to start after your frame was done?? My frame was completed in dec 18 and might start with bricks by Jan 24... We had to wait a while as it was Xmas and new year period and a lot of trades are off. I noticed a few back yesterday though. Your supervisor should be able to tell you when they are back Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14078Jan 17, 2017 1:07 pm Lincoln35_mckinley mikegrg1 How long did you had to wait for brickies to start after your frame was done?? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14079Jan 17, 2017 4:53 pm Has anyone built with the Eden Brae included prestige range brick called "stone". I loved smoke but could not justify paying an extra $7000. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14080Jan 17, 2017 9:38 pm @dreamh0me: we built with stone. What's your question? I built with EB back on 2009.
