The company that did cut the piece off the top of our doors to make room for the rollers. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13964Nov 02, 2016 8:40 pm I am having trouble sending a pm We used these guys: http://www.precisionblindsandshutters.com.au Not sure what area they service. We are in the hills district, Sydney. We had shutters on the front of the house and blinds everywhere else. They were very reasonably priced and did a great job. The cutting of the doors was pretty straight forward and didn't take them long. The installer said they cut doors like that all the time. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13965Nov 03, 2016 6:54 pm Cremorne35 Has anyone had any issues with inside-mount installation of roller blinds with stacker / sliding doors or has this always worked? Abbey Blinds tell me they've never had issues but when I look at the sliding doors and especially the stacker door, I can't help but notice that one of the aluminium frames sticks out very much. I'm afraid it's going to be in the way of the roller at the top? I realise we can do an outside mount, but it will just look weird if everything else is inside mount and a single stacker door is different?! Hi Cremorne, our doors were the same as yours. I told the guy installing the blinds that I wanted an inside mount so they cut off part of the frame. I've taken some photos for you so you can see what I mean. Check with other similar builders price for similar build (size, facade, inclusion) and their current offer so you know where you stand and can bargain with them. This is the only time where you might ask for discount after this everything else is pretty much fixed price... best of luck Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13970Nov 04, 2016 6:59 am Lincoln35_mckinley Cremorne35 Has anyone had any issues with inside-mount installation of roller blinds with stacker / sliding doors or has this always worked? Have you made any changes to it? Just go through the floor plan many times. Think of Window size, any extension or any must have in your list. Make a wishlist and take it with you for the meeting. Our tender presenter was calm, understanding, polite and very experienced professional. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13972Nov 04, 2016 6:59 pm Question for those who have gone through the defect period. Can you note issues with appliances if they were part of the build (package)? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13973Nov 05, 2016 12:10 pm Lincoln35_mckinley Question for those who have gone through the defect period. Can you note issues with appliances if they were part of the build (package)? Our dishwasher on/off button busted (about 12 months after handover). It took a few weeks for someone to be able to come out and fix it. Since then also the fan arm think(can't think of a better way to describe it) inside the dishwasher keeps falling off. We can clip it back in so just an annoyance at this stage. I don't like the dishwasher or oven we got. In hindsight I wish we had upgraded both. Oven hasn't had any technical issues. But in my opinion there are design flaws. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13974Nov 05, 2016 4:47 pm Hi all For those who just moved in I having issues with trying to feed wires through reverse bullnose plate that was setup by the electrical contractors. This is to help hide wires behind walls while tv is on mount . Does anyone have trick to help feed wire through? I'm feeding a HDMI cable and seems to be getting stuck . But in my opinion there are design flaws. I actually don't mind the washing of the dishwasher, but the start button needs a good press in to start. The oven is only ok, we had a really good double one in the old house which cooked in good timing etc, this one doesn't seem to cook very evenly and I literally have to warm it up and cook on 250 degrees . The gas cook top is also ok. Feels like there's only really one large cooker and the rest are smaller. The microwave isn't too bad, the grill part I like, but ours has become rusted up the top. Really weird because I clean it out regularly. I will mention the dishwasher but hubby said it might be going overboard to list the rust on the microwave Ps: how are your stairs? We have been in just on three months and they are creaky!! There's no sneaking up or down the stairs here. And the carpet is becoming worn and is not nailed down properly. I really hope they do something to resolve it. Surely it can't be normal for stairs to creak that quickly? Edited to add: how annoying about your dishwasher that you have to replace that part all the time!! Thanks Paul Hi Paul I'd like to offer you a solution but I had the same problem. In then end I asked an electrician who was doing some other work around our place to do it for me. Took him about 10 seconds using what he called a dish wire.! Shows what a little know how and the right tool can do. I hope someone else can assist you - I'd like to know too. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Thanks Hi kpatto, we just got the venini appliance package. Hi Bruce, that post was referring to our stairs. They are covered with carpet and are the Normal timber underneath I'd say. We chose carpet from the standard range with the standard underlay (it was going to cost approx $1300 to upgrade underlay alone, so we thought we'd stick it out and upgrade in five years time or so). We regret the carpet we chose, we wish we'd gone a darker colour and there are parts in the house which aren't laid properly and it concerns me as to how quickly the carpet on the stairs has worn. Here's a photo of our carpet. I would suggest you also have a read through the topic "Things you forget" as it may give you some pointers of what you may not think of until it is too late (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5823). I would say, try to prepare as much as possible and if there are certain things that you have questions about, ask - don't assume.
