Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13943Oct 30, 2016 2:34 pm Steven_La Hi all Is there anyone here having a full height tilling in main bath and ensuite ? Did they do your tiling first before they put the vanity in ? I think the right way is to do the carpentry fit-out, kitchen cabinet and vanity in first before they do the tilling on the floor and wall ? What happen if you want to do your kitchen or vanity again in the future and the tile that been installed has had discontinued ? there will be a hole in it . Steven, I've seen it done both ways, and each has its pros and cons. Our new Eden Brae house had the vanity and shaving cabinets installed first, then tiled (same for kitchen). The downside is that if you need to replace the vanity etc. then you may have gaps and be unable to match the tile. This happened on our last house when a pipe burst and the vanity was ruined. I've kept a good supply of each tile just in case. If you tile the whole area then install vanity etc then you avoid that problem. However it is more expensive and when you replace the vanity you may still need to do some repairs to tiling. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14. Contract signed 22/10/14 Construction commenced September 2015 PCI 7/3/16 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13944Oct 30, 2016 5:53 pm Hi All, we are selecting espresso bricks( yes they are painted), and timber garage and timber stained door for external colour scheme. It does include timber cladding as well. Will it be too much timber? We do have option of matching garage door with rendering which will possibly be shale gray. What would you prefer. Would love to know how you have matched garage and entry door timber stain. please share your external color selection. Our appointment is coming closer !! Not sure how Di lorenzo calculate this full heights tilling . I should check it with EBH and Di lorenzo too. Cheers Steven Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13950Oct 31, 2016 10:54 pm PixiGT mikegrg1 Steven_La EHB does not do flushed anymore . So is it ironed vs raked then? I believe ironed looked much better with the white mortar? Ironed does certainly look better Thanks... I believe ironed looks fuller mortar joint wasn't it? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13954Nov 02, 2016 1:58 pm we went with raked and offwhite mortar. big mistake. we never gave much thought to this, hog consultant suggested rake and we simply followed.. right now our SS trying to get the bricks cleaned again see if it looks any better.. Any pic u can share buddy? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13956Nov 02, 2016 2:21 pm Has anyone had any issues with inside-mount installation of roller blinds with stacker / sliding doors or has this always worked? Abbey Blinds tell me they've never had issues but when I look at the sliding doors and especially the stacker door, I can't help but notice that one of the aluminium frames sticks out very much. I'm afraid it's going to be in the way of the roller at the top? I realise we can do an outside mount, but it will just look weird if everything else is inside mount and a single stacker door is different?!
