Hopefully someone building the Livingstone 20 to be a bit closer to what we're doing If they have a decent painter doing your walls, 2 coats should be fine. I considered 3 coats, but I really pushed it on the SS and told him I wanted a perfect paint job - As a result, the painter took a bit of extra care and 2 coats came up pretty good. Something to consider when deciding on whether you want to pay for a 3rd coat or not. In between the time i posted the question and now we have received our pcv and approved it for a 3rd coat which came to $1800 The reason we are doing this is because my uncle in law is a painter and has recommended 3 coats always, one coat is sealer and two coats of your chosen colour. eden brae only do 1 sealer and 1 top coat which they spray not roll on. it doesn't matter how good a painter you are in the end it comes down to how coats you put on We had read a few stories of people scuffing the walls lightly only to reveal the sealer coat or even more. In the end your site supervisor will tell you anything you want to hear but in the end it comes down to the actual tradesmen doing the job and quickly they finish and get onto the next job Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13124Nov 06, 2015 11:02 am Hi Bugbos. I would agree with your comments. There are many comments on these blogs about the dissatisfaction people have with only 2 coats. We had our current house paints inside recently by a professional painter and he advised the same thing. The difference between second and third coat was very evident. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14. Contract signed 22/10/14 Construction commenced September 2015 PCI 7/3/16 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13126Nov 07, 2015 10:45 am Steven_La has anyone got the quote for the sound proof ? and should we have it ? During the Day 1 Home Option Gallery meeting you get to choose if you want soundproofing. At my meeting bk in june they had a promo Rumpus only - $250 Rumpus & Bed 1 - $495 Rumpus & Bed 1 2 3 4 - $1100 All Walls - $2750 Hope that gives u a rough idea. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13129Nov 09, 2015 9:12 am Hi DesiBloke, Back in June 2015 I got Eden 3G for $1100. Has anyone tried to have the wet area's floor flush finish with living area? I am guessing it will be additional cost to get this done as the slab has to be recessed 40mm for all wet area's. ----------------- Eden Brae Cremorne Blog : http://newhouse.gores.com.au Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13130Nov 09, 2015 12:50 pm Desibloke last month got EDEN 3 for $850 with glazing if that helps Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13132Nov 09, 2015 3:13 pm aas I'm wondering why we have different cost for Eden 3G. Hi aas, Just thinking it may be because of allowance rebate against requested door cost..? Not sure if that is an actual reason, however just a thought Or size might be a reason.. Hi ali_90 & hassanbegg, My build didn't have a camera installed inside, but I didn't really need it as I was available to attend very frequently to have a look so I didn't see the need (& so I didn't ask ). The outside camera was there till close to the end of the build, so I was still able to see deliveries of materials, trades, etc from the outside Sent using Tapatalk Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13137Nov 09, 2015 3:27 pm I also did not have camera on mine in or out until the end, and I kept visiting on weekly basis and a few times I made appointments with the supervisor with no issues. Building in Mulgoa Rise Hi Ali_90, where in MR are you building? We are in middlebrook rise Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13139Nov 09, 2015 6:30 pm Jealous of you guys. I learned about the Onsite Eye cameras months before my build started, and enquired about them with the people who supply the builders with them. They said they only supply the builders. So I went to my EB sales guy and he said yes all our builds get them, you'll have one. Was super keen. After the earthworks had been done I asked my SS about it and he told me it would probably go up after the slab was laid. I expressed how keen I was for it then, but still nothing. The house is three-quarters built now so I guess I'm not getting it. Adam Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13140Nov 09, 2015 6:37 pm That's a bummer Adam. Can't understand why onsite eye couldn't supply to non builders as well, given you would think there is a big market with many owner builders out there who would love this facility! I guess the other side of it is that you can't just sneak in and check the progress of your build whenever you are nearby without checking with your SS first as you would be on camera I built with EB back on 2009.
