Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6534Jul 17, 2013 9:47 pm Guddi56 We are yet to sign the contract with Eden brae and feeling very apprehensive about Kitchen culture. I am surprised to learn how in this day and age, they can,t get their act together and replace Kitchen culture with some other company. Very frustrating, I think A representation need to be made with EBAY re this. Hello Guddi56, I don't really understand what you mean by your final sentence, however, I thought I would share my Kitchen Culture experience. I realise many people on this forum had very real issues with KC not listening to their needs or taking a LONG time to get drawings to them, but I had no trouble. I went in, said I didn't want to upgrade much as I had plans for post handover and the lady was super friendly, not pushy at all and had the drawings to us within 3 days. When we decided to add an under mount sink, she sent an amended drawing and quote within a few hours. She was very personable and chatted to me happily in between decision making. I had Tegan. I thought she was Hunter based, as this is where I am, though Granadz Drysdale above said she also had Tegan. Everyone's experience is different with different matters. I think almost everyone, with almost ANY builder, will have some issues with some element of the build and/or admin if you dig enough. Best wishes with your decision, whatever it may be. I've been composing this post for the last hour with one eye on the TV and the other on the Laptop. Thanks ohmistershefield25, I think we will include it in the contract, to much hassle post handover. Yeah my wife picked the Jasper. heathcote35, we mentioned that we wanted the kitchen floor to be bamboo and they didn't say anything. The display Jasper at Kellyville has timber flooring in the kitchen. Thanks for the replies. God help them if they give us issues with our bond, I have photos and documented everything, it will be a fight they wont win LOL Yeah they didn't win with us either - husband was in their office within 15mins of the first phone call - but all the girl kept saying I don't care about your photos I wasn't here then blah blah - all I can say glad it was my husband and not me he is the most diplomatic person still took them 7 days to get them to complete their paperwork!!!![/quote] hahaha good on you Bax27, I will let you know how we go hahaha Granadz ~ Building Drysdale 29+2sq http://jason4rose.blogspot.com.au/ Slab ~ 3 April Frame ~ 17 April Bricks ~ 3 June Lock up ~ 17June Linings ~ 25 June PCI ~ 11 Sept Keys ~ 27 Sept Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6537Jul 17, 2013 10:03 pm HunterSheffield25 Guddi56 We are yet to sign the contract with Eden brae and feeling very apprehensive about Kitchen culture. I had the same experience Alison, I think much of this was due to tegan doing her job so well. We dealt with Tegan H at Norwest but she mentioned she was normally based in Thornton. I personally would have done more with the kitchen but felt some of there pricing was over the top so we just did things that you really have to do from square one like upgraded stone bench top to colour we wanted. It was cost of that upgrade than hit me like a brick having them do extras I wanted wasn't cost effective. I also added silk finish on existing cupboards & soft close mechanisms on draws/cupboards. We will add overhead cupboards & better shelving pantry after hand over for allot less $$. Very frustrating, I think A representation need to be made with EBAY re this. On our list if we were to build again includes selecting a design where the kitchen doesn't require any changes. My issues with KC are the result of changing the layout and being the person in the middle between KC and EB to modify the house design to suit. If you want to make changes attempt to do so with your sales consultant. This will prevent delays with KC. At the moment I'm discovering the impact of having standard ceiling height. I can't have overhead cupboards with a height more than 500mm as I requested a concealed rangehood which requires 700mm allowance from cooktop. I'm a visual person and I feel KC lack the ability to cater to that, apart from the delayed 3D image. Additionally, when talking to KC representatives it is often filled with cabinetry jargon. All the best with your build. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6540Jul 18, 2013 8:06 am heathcote35 That's pretty quick. Are you happy with their work? Our house is around 37 square as we are having a triple garage (with the extra 2m promotion) My house is 42 square double story, you wouldn't believe brickies took 3 days for the ground floor and 2 days for the upper story all together only 5 days plus scaffolding installation. I am very happy with the brick work as far as alignment and quality is concerned. But I have had chipping which my SS mentioned to me mostly it is war between brickie and the acid wash guys, blame game. My SS told me the brickie who did my bricks doesn't work for EBH any more due to $$$. In my street there are few single story houses and brickies taking 2 weeks even scaffolding is not involved. I built with EB back on 2009.
