Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6359Jul 10, 2013 5:54 pm firsttimers2013 Does anyone have any advice for Carpet, tiles and electrical, i have my appointment tomorrow, and while we know our choices on everything, are there any extra charges they might throw at us cause they feel like it. I know underlay you can upgrade, but i heard the grout also, is that true? Don't want more prices thrown at us Thanks everyone. I love this forum Hi! I have been a bit busy of late and haven't had much time to read through the posts. We put our house on the market and it sold in a day. The cooling off period ended yesterday, so it is now officially sold. I can't believe it!!! But now we have to be out of here by 6th August which we weren't expecting...so I have been packing! Congrats Cody Drysdale and Sheffield25. Also, Rose, your kitchen looks great! You must be excited! We upgraded some grout on our kitchen splashback firsttimers, just so it blended in with the tiles. It was next to nothing, but was $15 per square metre extra to lay. This was nothing on a splashback, but if you want your whole house tiled with a different grout colour, it would add up. We were going to get charcoal grout to match our charcoal tiles, but when we realised it would be over $1000, we put that idea to bed!!!! There are two grout colours included-white and natural. We got larger tiles in our bathroom and ensuite (450x450) and because they were standard tiles, this was no extra for the tile, but there was an additional laying charge for the larger tile in a wet area. It wasn't dreadfully expensive though. Electrical appointment was good. The price adds up in front of you, so you can add and delete things as you see fit. We just got provision for fans in bedrooms, rather than the actual fan and our consultant made a note for an extra noggin to be placed in the ceiling for the fans free of charge. We can now get the fans on sale and put in later easily. Also, consider two way switches in hallways etc. Have fun! In a month we might have a slab hooray....should be pegged on/by the 15th. By March we may have a house (being realistic). I would looove it if it was completed by early Feb (bit optimistic!? Not looking forward to that Christmas break. I wish I got 5 weeks off!). Either way, we are finally moving again! Also, if anyone has any ideas for yard designs to keep dogs entertained, please drop some notes in the thread in my signature (thanks)! I'm trying to think of ways to keep my girls amused when they are outside Congrats Cody Hopefully we will not be that far behind you.
