Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 10, 2012 8:07 am We are considering building with Dennis, just wanting to hear of others recent experience in contract times. We want to be able to get a contract signed in 8 weeks, so we dont have to go through bank finance approval again. Thanks Re: Dennis Family Homes - Contract 2Feb 10, 2012 8:34 am We built with DFH and very happy with our house. Contract took longer than 8 weeks though. They are slow with contracts but don't let that put you off if you like your house design. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. We also weren't in a hurry so that didn't help. Maybe if we pushed them it may have happened sooner. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. I am not sure if you can get them to push through quicker but from what I have heard from others they are not the quickest. Re: Dennis Family Homes - Contract 7Feb 10, 2012 10:29 pm Our contract with DFH also took some time. THis was further complicated by them making numerous errors on the plans which caused significant delays Neil and Rachel Finally completed the Hartley 361 with Dennis Family Homes in Mernda Villages..... They pushed like crazy and it did not speed anything up. No idea why it takes them so long. Re: Dennis Family Homes - Contract 10Feb 11, 2012 2:12 pm This is the reason why I didn't sign up with DFH :
WTF? Why didn't they tell us right after the survey that they didn't want to build on our land, rather than having us wait 3 months! Re: Dennis Family Homes - Contract 11Feb 11, 2012 5:04 pm Thanks everyone... following the above comments, especially about the 2 months to tell you they wouldnt build was too much risk for us...we have just put down a deposit with arb homes... similar size home for quite a bit less with lots of inclusions. happy campers here!
