PS_Sirocco7, Dani, PowerballSam and KDLEN congrats on reaching the fun part. Vatche you're almost there. We are still waiting on outstanding PCI items to be fixed, however there is a plan in place now and hopefully by tomorrow afternoon they should be all resolved. Our SS responded almost immediately to the email we sent him requesting they be fixed ASAP. He also apologised for the delay. Once they are fixed well be happy. Since I have been back at work getting things done at the house is much harder. Painting doors it turns out is a fine art that requires some experience to get perfect. I tried various techniques and have only just nailed it using a fine sprayer, much better finish than brushes, rollers or pads. Unfortunately I am not happy with the first 6 I painted so I'll be pulling them back out to sand and paint again. Manhattan 37 builder, Rinnai79, bailey76 - You guys are flying along PowerballSam - We had to pay someone to remove spoil that was dumped on our block just before we went into construction. cem - Congrats on getting the keys. Hope your move is an easy one Nugget - Glad to hear they replaced your floor and installed the correct dishwasher, its sad you had to resort to the DOFT though. As I had 5 weeks off work and my fiancee had 3 if we didn't get all of this done it would never be done. If we were working not much would have been done. Your situation would be a lot tougher. PS_Sirocco7 - Our Bamboo is Arrowsun Whiskey. http://www.arrowsun.com.au/product_images/g/098/Whiskey__41262_zoom.jpg We are very happy with it. We love our Cycad and have another going in on the left hand side once the landscaping is done there. It would be nice to live so close to a national park like that. pacificisis - It is projecting onto a 100" screen. That was the biggest I could go in that room unless I went Anarmorphic on to a Cinemascope screen. To expensive tough. I'm very happy with how well the Theatre turned out. It's better than going to the Movies now. Glad to hear they got your slab pricing sorted. To the newbies, welcome and patience is your new best friend. To answer some concerns that have been raised in general: Masterton organised and installed both our Electricity and Gas connections. This was at no extra cost to us as it was part of our site costs. Check your Tender as it will have wording in it if it is included. In saying that, someone royally stuffed up the gas connection an assigned the meter to the wrong address. Not sure if it was M or Origin but I have had many phone calls to Origin and still haven't resolved it. The best they could offer was to disconnect the service. We are not sure what is going to happen but we have gas just no account assigned to us. Maybe we will have free gas forever. Regarding the site access after construction has started. A builder can say what they want but the fact is that it is your land and that never changes. You are NOT trespassing, no matter what they say, if you enter the site. You can go on site whenever you want and the only thing they can do is threaten to stop construction. (And possibly follow through with that threat, what legal complications would arise from this I don't know). We were constantly entering our site and had no problems, however I do hold a Construction White Card which made our SS much happier. If we noticed a problem or something we were unsure of, the question was asked and usually answered the next day. Our SS was very good at promptly responding to any queries we had. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 2.0 2483Aug 21, 2012 1:36 pm I'm feeling a new thread to start: Masterton Homes - The next thread 3.0 as this thread has now reached the 125 pages, I hope we can agree to start a new thread to follow from this one. There are about 3 to 4 nearing the construction stage, 6 to 7 already in construction, and lucky few just got their keys. What is the view? Nope, certifier goes in, FAIL. ps: there's a new thread! We have been in our home for almost 3 months now and had the m surveyors at our home last week,we happened to arrive home as they were there and questioned what they were doing and you guessed it, they forgot to do it prior to handover so we also dont have all our occupancy certificate requirements completed although we were told we had, suprise, suprise. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 2.0 2495Nov 08, 2014 10:19 pm dsa39 Vatche One major issue is the front setback, it is 10m! I was expecting 7m, like where the current house is and like our next door neighbour. I will need to chase it up. As it is dawn now, I have more front yard then back yard! lol. Same with us 6.5 instead of 4.5 easy fixed dont worry Hi Dsa39, We have a similar frontage issue. Our house's current frontage is 7.5 metre. One neighbour is 7m and the other one has a silly 11.2m frontage due to a 4m porch. According to CDC, we will have 9.4m front setback! How can we convince CDC to reduce the frontage? P.S. Our council is requiring 6m frontage only. Many many thanks in advance! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 2.0 2496May 05, 2020 9:42 pm jayliam Hi All I'm hoping someone can help me with this query. When we signed our contracts on the 13.1.12, there is a clause which states that we have 3 months to get the plans approved, otherwise we will have to pay the current base price of the house. I have been chasing them and they haven't even put it through to be approved yet. If they take say six weeks to put the plans into CDC, and then we end up going over the 3 months are we liable for that? It just seems they have these clauses with time limits on them and then they go and take their time so we have to pay the increase. They already tried to get us to pay $2800 because we went over the 2 months to sign the contract, but they didn't even have the contract ready within the two months, otherwise we would of signed it. It's a joke! We got out of that one, but we would of walked and lost our deposit if they made us pay that, but now we have signed contracts and can't walk. they took 8 months to plan my masterton home and they charged me 5 months for going over the 3 months. they took more then 16months to build worst decision ever to build with these lieing wankers and the finish of my house decrasceful goodluck Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
