For instance in WA, some builders do 100mm slabs as standard which is better than the common 80mm slab. It's usually not a necessity, but considered superior. The home will be fine with 80mm, but 100mm might mean it being less prone to cracking, more structural integrity etc which is important to some people. Hope this helps!
