Expect to starting things like colour selection and the like in the next week or so. I'm currently writing up the initial stuff in a blog, trying to think back and at the same time make it actually useful and interesting to read rather than dull and matter-of-fact. Im a little way off building as Im still in the contract negotiation stage and I like to research, research, research before I commit to anything so I should be right when it comes to selecting colours etc.... Ive even gone to the extent of making a full 3D model of my entire block and floor plan with Sweet Home 3D. This is great for visualising. Love the virtual tour too. DH and I don't think of ourselves as being particularly stylish, so we started thinking maybe it might be a good to have someone else look over our brick/flooring/paint/kitchen/bathroom colours and give us their thoughts. Re: I’m looking for a new build to follow 12Mar 12, 2012 1:27 pm Hi Michelle, youve probably been inundated now, but id love some colour help. our plans are still in drafting atm [have been for about 4 weeks, so hopefully should have them any day]. we havent done our colour selections or prestart yet, and i have changed my mind so many times with colours. all that is def is that we are having a cream brick.....i just cant picture other colours together...not even off websites that do that kind of thing as even for the same thing, eg colourbond ironstone, comes up in 4 different colours on the diff sites, so im in a pickle. any help would be appreciated. There is also a heap pf free models you can access on their own site - http://www.sweethome3d.com/importModels.jsp You can also find a lot of models on Google 3D warehouse - http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ (collada format for sweet home) You can import/export sketchup models through sketchup to sweet home too. I charge $70 an hour for online consultations if that's any help to you. $70/hour, wow I wish I had known that I struggled with colours because we too are building with a small builder so didnt have the support of a colour consultant. i ended up finding one in our local area and paid $500 for 3 hours, she was pretty good and I am happy with my colours now, so probably money well spent. When I have jobs on at night I don’t find the time to be on the forum, so when I get in I don’t get around to checking the building forum. You need to come and find me!
